Bub or maybe Uncle Charlie gives Tramp a steak for his dinner.

In Brady Bunch Alice gives (I think Peter) a steak and says it was for Tiger's dinner, but it would go better on his black eye.

Did most people feed their dog's a raw diet then? It is popular now, but I'm not sure about back then.

No! A work of fiction ! My family could barely afford to feed us steak let alone the dog ! I really don't think really well off people did either .

Back in those times my grandparents had a dog--his diet was Alpo.
