Emmy Award Winning Actor and Director Gerald Anthony Dies

Gerald Anthony (who played Marco Dane on both OLTL and GH) died Friday, May 28th, at the age of 52. Anthony was one of the first cross-overs between ABC soaps and won an Emmy for his portrayal of Marco Dane on General Hospital. He was the first actor to play the same role on two soaps for any length of time. He was well enjoyed for his guest appearances on "LA Law" and "Wiseguy." Anthony was best known as of late for his behind-the-camera work as one of the directors for "All My Children."
He will be missed. No cause of death has yet been determined.

A true daytime legend. He is one of author Gerard J. Waggett's "Soap Opera 100". My favorite Marco Dane storyline was his affair with Karen Wolek (Judith Light) and when he also played Marco's twin brother. Everyone thought that Marco was the one who was murdered and poor Viki got the blame for it.
That was some good stuff back then.
