Default This show is starting to remind me of Married with Children

When I look at this show, I get flashbacks of seeing MWC because the Father gets no respect, the wife pretty much runs the house and makes the rules, and the oldest daughter reminds me of KELLY BUNDY-she sounds like her, she acts like her and this makes me wonder are one of the writers for 8 simple from married with children?

Yes one of the the writers, Tracy Gamble, was also a writer for married with children.

LOL not to mention that the same actress plays the mom in both series.

I know-And she didn't remind me of Peg at first-but as I keep watching each episode-She is sounding and acting more and more like peg.

Haha, they need to let the guy who plaed Al Bundy guest star as an old boyfriend of Cate's.

Unfortunely like LWB, this series is starting to slip badly. The first 2 or 3 episodes were excellent, but the most recent 1 or 2 episodes just have not been as funny. It seems as though they are only focusing on the girls, and that they are the stars. It is not focusing on the parents relationship or the son at all. It is still OK, but it will hopefully pick up a bit stronger.

I agree. I'm still watching the show, but I think I'm throwing in the towel in a week or two. In my case, it could be me. I like adult comedies--The DVD Show, MTM, AITF, Barney Miller, 3's Company, The Jeffersons, Cheers, Seinfeld. I love Raymond because the kids are hardly ever shown.
The only show I've ever liked with kids was Family Ties.
Even if I stop watching 8 Simple Rules, I hope it's a great success because I'm a big fan of John Ritter. I think he deserves his place on TV. I'm starting to think that this show just isn't for me.

I agree with you Jan, I think i don't like 8 Simple rules because it's not an adult comedy. Which is probably why I don't care for shows like My Wife and Kids, and the Bernie Mac show. But the show Less than perfect I think should be in 8 simple rules time slot.

That wouldn't work at all. Less Than Perfect wouldn't start the night off too well on ABC, it needs a lead-in. 8 Simple Rules and My Wife & Kids are great shows to start off for the night, this is why ABC Tuesday and Wednesday is such a hit this season.

And 8 Simple Rules is a family show, 9:30 would be a stupid time for it. ABC has the perfect times for Tuesday, and it looks like 8-11 Tuesdays will last a long time.

Yeah that makes sense to have 8 simple rules on at 8 or 8;30 since it is a family show. That older daughter on 8 simple rules BOTHERS Me! That's one of the reason's i stopped watching it.

The show is okay. John Ritter is hard to look at, because he hasn't aged to well. And Katey Segal barely gets any funny lines. And the son is the funniest one on the whole show and he isn't focused on too much. The oldest daughter is hot though.
