Which cases from the original run by Robert Stack do you guys think would have made interesting episodes if they had been shown as their own episodes like the current Netflix format? Here are some ideas I have:
Dale Kerstetter-there probably would have been more video footage of the incident occuring, maybe even potential John Does in the state of Pennsylvania that might potentially be Dale. Ohio prostitute killer-there was already a basic profile done, vis-a-vis a truck driver, but there could be more detail added. I-70 killer-again, a more in-depth profile could be established based on victimology and behavior mannerisms described by eyewitnesses. Philip Fraiser-I imagine a myriad of suspects could have been presented. I'm still inclined to believe it was Michael Wayne McCray. Norman Ladner-potential evidence of corruption in the area based on coverup. Justin Burgwinkel-popular theory is that he ran away, maybe where he could fight in a holy war. I'm deadset on thinking he joined the French Foreign Legion. Murders of Father Rivera and Father Ryan-they probably aren't the only victims of the same perpetrator. |

Hell, that'd be interesting just to hear updates on it. We know they're both dead, but.. No one has been able to definitively answer whether the incidents continued after the death of.. Whichever one died first.. Or even if it continued after the UM episode, right? Seeing as the main people of the story are fairly long dead.. Not entirely sure it'd be a good use of the limited time, however.. Which is my biggest complaint about the new series. Put on cases that have a shot at being solved.
These latest producers, tho, it seems to me would rather do 45 minutes on the friggin' Magic Rock. |

1) Angela Hammond
Aerial shot of the town and then close in on the intersection where Rob's car stalled out, and also the lot where the pay phone was. Eerie music. Teaser with Rob talking about not being able to save Angela. Maybe reveal Angela was pregnant in this new version? Talk about the hunt for the guy with the fish decal covering his rear window 2) Beverly McGowan Wide shot of Beverly's hometown in Florida and also where she was found Tease about Elaine Parent by showing her picture in the beginning Go into whether Beverly's suspicions got tipped off, as was discussed on another thread. Since one working theory is that Elaine disguised herself as "Sam," maybe discuss that rather than showing the now-infamous composites of "Sam" and "Alice". You could still have the reenactment of the "Sam" figure going into the travel agency in Florida and picking up the car at Heathrow Airport. They could also discuss looking for Beverly's/Alice's name on the passenger list and finding the identity that Elaine used. This would open the door to talk about Elaine's history of swindling people, including former lovers. The heartbreaking quote from her family about killing someone for a mere $1000. |

You have some true crime podcaster or whatever that repeats a theory or suspicion as fact.. And.. Suddenly.. It IS 'fact'. West Memphis Three case had quite a bit of this.. From both sides. one of the few cases where I don't think the ~15 minute original segment did it justice. I mean, after just watching that segment with nothing else.. I'd be close to convinced it was all BS and the boyfriend killed her and made the rest of it up. |

Here's some others I think would be interesting to see in more detail. AJ Breaux Paul Whipkey Patricia Meehan Patsy Wright Elizabeth Campbell Su Ya Kim (probably difficult since her family left the country) Also, a little off topic, but in the spirit of the original show where UM used to press the federal government for corrupt activity and historical inaccuracy. It would be interesting to see them feature an episode about western expansion. One that I am interested in is the unjust murder of Crazy Horse, the famous Lakota warrior who with his followers should have received their own land/agency. his family decedents would have to agree to participate and I'm not sure that they would. |
