Default Jump rope rhymes...

Hey everyone.....last night for some odd reason I was lying in bed trying to come up with the words to an old jump rope song....finally I was able to remember all the words:

"Cinderella, dressed in yellow, went upstairs ro kiss a fellow. By mistake, she kissed a snake, how many doctors does it take? 1,2,3, etc....."

Anyone else remember any jump rope songs?

I wasn't the type of girl who was ever really that into skipping and stuff - I was too busy playing with toy cars and running around in the mud.
I do kinda remember one rhyme about a helicopter though. One girl would stand in the middle with the rope and everyone else would stand round her in a circle. The girl in the middle would spin the rope round her head (like a helicopter blade, I suppose) and everyone would chant "helicopter, helicopter please come down. Mummy, Daddy, who shall I marry?" and then at that point the girl would bring the rope down to ground level and everyone had to jump over it as it went round. The chant then went through a list of traditional male occupations "tinker, taylor, fireman.............rich man, poor man, begger man, thief......" and whoever tripped over the rope was supposed to marry someone with the occupation most recently mentioned.

We used to have handstand rhymes too but those were pointless. Someone would be "up" and they'd say a stupid little rhyme (the 'beach buggy' one was the most common) and then everyone would do a handstand and the person who was "up" would decide who did the best handstand and then the person chosen would become "up".

It was stupid really cos it was only the popular girls who would be "up" cos they always chose each other even if their handstands were crap!

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around,
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, show your shoe
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, that will do!
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, go upstairs-
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say your prayers-
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn out the lights-
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, say good-night!
