Default Bedrooms

Naomi was angry she and Vint had to stay in the basement and did not get Fran's bedroom when Fran died and Bubba came. But there should have been two other upstairs bedrooms available with Buzz and Sonya both gone.

It was stated twice that Buzz's room was in the attic, Sonya's room was Fran's writing studio which was formerly Ellen's and Eunice's bedroom. But yeah it's been a long debated topic about what happened to the other "mystery bedroom" upstairs.

A couple of theories I have are:

The dynamic of the show changed when it went into syndication, Mama's house is MUCH smaller visibly! In the NBC episodes, I'm assuming there were 3 bedrooms upstairs; Thelma ad Carl's, Eunice's and Ellen's and Vint's I'm guessing Vint's bedroom eventually became Fran's bedroom, then Ellen's and Eunice's room became Fran's studio, which later became Sonya's room.

In the syndicated episodes I picture it as maybe there have always just been TWO bedrooms upstairs, Thelma's and Carl's and Eunice's and Ellen's *which in this case would have later become Fran's bedroom*, and perhaps Vint ALWAYS slept in the basement....or maybe he shared a room with Eunice and Ellen when he was really little *that was not uncommon in some places back then for young opposite sex siblings to share a room* then when he started getting older he moved to the basement

Another theory I have is, Sonya once mentioned her room was TINY, so maybe Vint and Naomi wouldn't feel much better in it if they would be totally cramped with a tiny closet and all

Correct me if I am wrong but we only get to see Bubba's bedroom and Vint's basement bedroom on the show. We never see Mama, Fran, Buzz, or Sonya in their bedrooms.

Sonya's bedroom was the room Eunice and Naomi were in when Eunice was helping Naomi get ready for the wedding. I recently learned this, I was always under the impression that it was Mama's bedroom for a long time. Bubba's room was Fran's old room, Buzz was shown in his room once when Vint was helping hi get ready for his homecoming
