Well everyone. As I said before, I usually meet a star each night, and Roger Rees was mine last night. As a cast member of the new hit off-broadway show A man Of No Importance, I saw him on 47th street, eating what looked to be a donut. I stopped him nicely, and asked for his autograph. He was VERY thin...but kind.
Tonight I'am seeing "Say Goodnight Gracie" with Frank Gorshin. My brother and dad are going with me. Gorshin is the celebrity of tonight. He's known mostly for being The Riddler on Batman. |

Ahhhhh! I'm SO getting tickets for December! I heard it's sold out until the beginning of Sept.! I just adore Faith Prince... and I heard Roger rocks! That's so great. Ahrens/Flaherty are wonderful. I ADORE Ragtime and I heard the music had the same feel. Something to look forward to!
Roger and Bebe were the only two Cheers members who were really stage vets (well, aside from Kelsey... but... yeah...). Let's put it this way, they were the only two who really expressed their preference to live theatre over tv/film.

I'll take mine to go! |

Roger as an actor does nothing for me, but as a person he's just so kind. Faith on the other hand [I've seen her 6 times!] is a wonderful person offstage, and the queen of comedy onstage. She has comparisons to Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett.

I've adored Faith Prince since she was in Guys and Dolls! She is the best! I know someone who was in James Joyce's The Dead, so I went to see it a little while after it opened. What do you know, a little while later, Faith joins the cast!!! I was so upset she wasn't in it when I saw it, then planned to see it again, never did... and they took it out to California! So upsetting. I never saw Bells Are Ringing, though I wish I had because Marc Kudish rocks too! (Saw him a million times in Millie... I LOVE Millie!)
Anyway, the point being, I REALLY wanted to see this show, but whereas it's a limited run, and I haven't gotten tickets yet, I DOUBT I'll be seeing it. I plan on seeing Emily in Dinner At Eight at the beginning of December... maybe I could try getting tickets now and see both. What is it's closing date? Do you know? I can go find out. Anyway, I agree with you with Roger doing nothing for me as an actor. I don't think he's bad, I just don't care for him as an actor. |

I saw Guys and Dolls when I was only like 4 years old, which was the age in which the kids were allowed into the theatre...and I LOVED every minute of it! Faith Prince was divine, Nathan Lane was hilarious, and the rest of the cast thrilled me! I saw her in James Joyce's The Dead also, and felt that although the show was a bit slow, the cast was quite good. I saw her in Bells Are Ringing also...her best performance to date, and loved her so much. I saw her twice in Noises off also, and although she really was wasted, the show as a whole was hilarious!!!
PS: I did try to get tickets to Man Of No Importance, but it's sold out up to Thanksgiving. So instead on the date I wanted, I will see the beautiful Lea Salonga and hilarious Jodi Long in Flower Drum Song!!! |

You were only 4? How old are you?! LOL Let's see... that was 1994... I was 10. You must be 12?
Anyway, was Emily in The Dead when you saw it? Or Donna Lynne? I actually know both. I used to talk to Donna Lynne online all the time, ironically! That was around the time she was in Jolson. I wonder if she even remembers me! I'm definitely seeing her in Hollywood Arms. I saw her in Broadway on Broadway this year and was just stunned! Had no idea she was that phenomenal all the time I talked to her. She's a triple threat too... and that just kicks because I am! :-D |
