Not only did Boomtown drop 29 percent drop from its Law & Order: Criminal Intent lead-in (#1: 9.8/14), it dipped seven percent in rating in the second half-hour (7.3/11 to 6.8/11) - always a dangerous sign. Compared to the year ago Sunday (Oct. 14, 2001), American Dreams was off 24 percent from former occupant The Weakest Link (8.7/14) with Boomtown equal to former failed 10 p.m. Sunday occupant U.C.: Undercover (7.0/11). "The last half hour of "60 Minutes" (9.9/16) and "Becker" (7.4/11) kept CBS in the lead for the 8 p.m. hour with FOX's baseball coverage in second. On NBC, "American Dreams" (6.8/11) topped ABC's movie for third. The WB remained in fifth with "Charmed," 4.6/7."
A 6.8/11 isn't too bad, especially when it's up against the highly rated 60 Minutes, and the Baseball Playoffs. |
