Ralston/Purina Urkel-O's commercial from 1992

At the time the sitcom Family Matters was a hit and made Steve Urkel a popular character pop culture icon Steve Urkel was seen everywhere from his own doll made by Hasbro to appearances on posters in teen magazines such as Bop and Tiger Beat but perhaps one of the most weirdest and oddest things of Steve Urkel was his very own breakfast cereal named oddly enough Urkel-O's. Made by Ralston/Purina in 1992 Urkel-O's was a cereal similar to Froot Loops with banana and strawberry flavored rings and accompanied by a funny commercial the Urkel-O's cereal commercial begins with two kids at a factory when suddenly Steve Urkel appears showing off his new cereal to the kids and offers them a bowl of it and Steve is full of joy as he described his new cereal and then the commercial ends with the kids saying "we love you Urkel" and Urkel ends the commercial with his signature laugh and snort. I don't know how this cereal sold in stores but I didn't even know that Urkel-O's existed until my cousin saw it advertised in a supermarket ad and wanted to try them. I guess Urkel-O's didn't sell well because it left supermarket shelves in 1993. But how Jaleel White got asked to play Steve Urkel in this commercial is somewhat a mystery to me but for sitcom fans as well as Family Matters fans this commercial is a treat
