Default Denny's Restaurants are Closing, See Plans

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...4/75799420007/

Maybe this too has been in the works like so many businesses, but the Plandemic as I see it, pushed everything on.....

Denny's has served MILLIONS for decades......

When you get the general picture in restaurant chains Denny's had always been number one second to IHOP and many others but one thing that set Denny's apart from other restaurant chains is that they were known for serving breakfast all day and the lowest prices of any restaurant chain. But when restaurant chains such as Marie Callender's Bakers Square Village Inn Coco's and Carrows started becoming huge Denny's moved to #5 in restaurant chains. But I think the main reason why Denny's went downhill is that the quality of the food was not becoming great and the only Denny's entree that kept them surviving was their famous Grand Slam breakfasts. But I think also why they are closing some restaurants is because Denny's used to be a family oriented restaurant but now their target audience is senior citizens and when I would eat at Denny's I used to see lots of families but now Denny's seems to attract the senior crowd. And it is true that IHOP is taking some of Denny's glory away because you see more commercials for IHOP than Denny's and Denny's used to have lots of commercials advertising new specials. What I think will happen is that Denny's will be bought by another restaurant chain and rename themselves. After all we saw this when Village Inn transformed itself into Butter Smith's but you can see why IHOP has taken Denny's glory away from them because IHOP wants to compete with Denny's and they have to share competition with local diners in the cities where Denny's are built

IHOP in my town is gone for a few years and taken over by a high end gourmet type Mexican restraut run by 2 sisters.

The Dennys we had was close by to the now gone Kmart. I went occasionally. I remember taking a bus trip which started from Denny's back in the mid late 1970's . Dennys had a inn too and was in business till ? 2015. Several months ago I looked, the place was closed and building had with graffiti all over it. A week or so ago happened to look and the place was demolished. Changing times. Lack of customers, type of food, lack of help, probably all played a part.

The Denny's in Fort Wayne closed a very long time ago, might have still been the 20th century. I would agree with Hawkee that IHOP does better, those locations are still going strong here.

When I would eat at Denny's I always thought that they had excellent food for a good price and in my town we have three Denny's and the one that my family would visit gets a lot of business because it was right next to a Motel 6 and a lot of Motel 6 guests would go in there to order food or eat breakfast all the time. Because when you put Denny's restaurants next to a motel that's a prime spot for vacationers because you can walk from a motel to Denny's order your food wait for your order then pick up your food then go to your room and eat and it's simple as 1-2-3. But what I think is causing Denny's to lose customers is "as I mentioned in my earlier post in this thread" the competition that they have to face with other restaurant chains like IHOP and local diners in big cities like Seattle Las Vegas Denver Atlanta and Austin and whenever a new diner opens up in a big city the restaurant chains have to share competition all the time. Another restaurant chain that was successful as Denny's was Marie Callender's and they had a family oriented image when they were starting out and their pies were the reason why Marie Callender's survived so long and when they closed Marie Callender's still was successful with their TV dinners and desserts. And I can guarantee that Denny's will begin selling their entrees at supermarkets much like Marie Callender's Boston Market and Bob Evans are doing. But once local diners got more popular the restaurant chains began losing customers and started closing some locations. But it's no secret why IHOP and Waffle House still are #1 and Denny's has gone to #5. I think in the future we will see Denny's begin a new image and attract a family audience once again

There's still a Denny's near Notre Dame in Indiana. Actually the building they're in originally was a Shoney's Restaurant. East of there, Mishawaka has one too, although I'm not familiar with it, and it looks as though Elkhart still has a couple of Denny's too.

There's a Denny's in my home town and I hope it stays open because I love the food there. Great tasting diner style food.
