Question Do most of you fans hate Barnabas?

I went to the Sci Fi Dark Shadows message board and people call Barnabas, Barney!!!!!! Some people say he ruined the show. I like his character. What do you members think of Barnabas Collins?

LOL. The DS boards at SciFi.com are just messed up IMO. They are really rude over there, with a few exceptions. They enjoy insulting Grayson Hall and Jonathan Frid for some reason *shrug* Most of the DS fan base that I know of don't hate Julia or Barnabas. There is even a http://www.juliahoffman.com and I think a Barnabas site like that too LOL.

On the Barney thing, lots of people call him that even if they're big fans of Barnabas.

Red face

Well they are not fans in my humble opinion. Back in the 70's Jonathan Frid's charecter was immensly huge. He had a huge fan base of ladies and men who loved him. People would gather in the New York Studios hoping to get a glimpse of Barnabus. (I wasn't one of them because I was too young at the time. ) Anyway....... I like Barnabus. He really looked the part of Barnabus.

Well I am never going to those boards again. I can't stand anyone who hates one of my favorite characters. I think he made the show a little better and more interesting. Especially when he was in 1795, it was interesting seeing how he became a vampire. Also I think if it wasn't for Barnabas there wouldn't be a need for Angelique and I like her so I'm glad they made his character. Also theres character websites!! I have to check this out. Thanks for letting me know!

Here's something I saw on the board entitled 'The Alexandra Moltke Limmerick' that disgusted me:

Quote:
WHAT COULD BE EVER MORE HOKEY?
THAN AN ACTRESS WHO, TRYING TO BE LOW-KEY
IN THE ROMANTIC KNOW
SELECTS CLAUS VON BULOW
TO BE THE NEW MR. AL MOLTKE!
I have no problem with them insulting Mrs. Isles' acting, but the last two lines insult her personal life. Those last two lines are the reason Alexandra does not attend fan festivals; because she's afraid of questions concerning Claus von Bulow. Another reason I don't like the Sci Fi boards.

Never mind, I just found out who Claus von Bulow is. I never knew of that until today. Poor Alexandra, I feel sorry for her.
