Default The Jackie Thomas Show

Does anyone remember The Jackie Thomas Show with Tom Arnold?? It was hilarious, and a HUGE ratings hit, but never got a chance to get a few more seasons. Tom Arnold was fun.

i remember the show but i never watched it. you're right about it being a big hit. it came onto the Top-30 at #16 in 1993 a month AFTER it had been dropped by ABC. it was tied with "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "Hanging with Mr. Cooper". each show attracted a 14.6 rating. i suspect that Tom's controversial marriage to Roseanne and his extra-marital affairs left ABC (a Disney company) with no choice but to ax the show. Roseanne may have had something to do with it, too! ABC over-reacted the same way with Sasha Mitchell on "Step by Step" with his troubled marriage creating a "hostile" environment around the Disney name. His "Tom" show was only on a few months in 1994. i guess Tom Arnold is another Dabney Coleman...you can't have a main character be an absolute grouch or egomaniac without a few touches of human decency to trickle through the way Jack Benny, Archie Bunker, George Jefferson, Louie DePalma, or Maude Findlay did in an effort to make that "mean" person likable! Tom Arnold or Dabney Coleman's characters aren't likable in my opinion.

I thought the show was horrible. It was obvious the only reason that show existed was because of Tom Arnold being married to Roseanne and that alone shouldn't be a reason to create a show.

Default TOM (1994)

I also recorded some episodes of "TOM" which Tom Arnold starred in from 1994. I am looking for his 1997 sitcom called
"The Tom Show"
