Question New Years Resolutions...

I was wondering on the episode the other day where all of the girls and beverly ann made new years resolutions, when did jo break hers? I don't remember her insulting blair, so why did nat win the 20 dollars? I'm just confused, maybe I missed something. Maybe someone can clear that up for me.

Blair didn't break hers either. She kept her dates on the weekends. And I don't recall Jo insulting Blair either unless she did and Hallmark cut it out. Also it was a 100 dollars Natalie won. See all the girls bet 20 dollars each that they couldn't keep their New Year resolutions.

Well....You're both right. Hallmark didn't show either one of them break their resolutions...Hallmark probably edited that out. Which I think is stupid because that's a major point in the story line.

I know, the resolutions was what the episode was about. I really hate Hallmarks editing.

Oops I meant a hundred dollars. And Hallmark is really getting on my nerves w/ the editing of all these major scenes. It gets real confusing.

Yea but still, it's the same exact editing you got from USA. So don't blame Hallmark, blame USA. And we don't even know if it was edited out. Maybe the writer's never wrote it in or they broke it off camera. So you can never be too sure. We should all thank Hallmark that at least their showing FOL let alone this episode. I don't think N@N ever showed Post-Christmas Card, did they?

How was it even controversial??? Do they really expect kids to go out and buy everything in sight on a credit card? N@N really has some major problems.

lol

I still can't understand it guys. Why do they show controversial episodes of some shows, but not others? I'll take 'All in the Family' for instance since it's my one and only favorite on N @ N. They showed the episodes where Archie gets addicted to pills. They showed the episodes where Edith almost gets raped. How about when Beverly LaSalle got killed? They showed that one too. Where do they draw the line when it comes to showing and not showing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they seem to show the controversial episodes of AITF. It just seems to me that they would've showed some of the controversial FOL episodes.

Maybe it's because most of the episodes of AITF revolved around older people and when you think about it, the show opened the door to controversy. I guess they have to show the controversial episodes because of the fact if they didn't, they would hardly have any episodes to show. FOL deals with teenagers and since teenagers relate to teenagers, it might make some of the ideas stick. That's how some people are. Natalie learns her lesson with the credit card. The lesson might not stick with some viewers. Some viewers might see all the cool stuff that Natalie bought with her credit card, and the person might run out and get a credit card of their own. The person might overload their ass with the credit card and seriously get in debt. I guess N @ N just doesn't want to be blamed if someone tried to copy one of the FOL controversial episodes.

It's kind of the same thing with music. If someone hears a song about suicide and the person listening to it might get the idea that the singer is trying to convince them to kill themselves. The person goes out and commits suicide & the parents blame the musician.

I think because it is New Year's episode, so that's why they didn't show it.

I think Nick-at-Nite didn't want to air the contriversal episodes because they think they are a family network, which is all not true. Look at the shows now some of the shows aren't exactly family shows like "Cheers". If they can air these shows, I don't see why they can't air the contriversal episodes. They teach lessons on parenting and the real world. Maybe Nick-at-Nite is still living in un-real-ality, why do you think they had a marathon devoted to it? If they really think they can't air the contriversal episodes, why do they can really run away from them.
