Was Julie always obnoxious and annoying - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just started watching ODAT and in the first season Julie's attitude is very obnoxious. She's always yelling and insulting Barbara and disrespecting her mother. She acts like she was on drugs or something. Was her character meant to be so annoying? I don't know how anyone could stand her and her attitude.

Funny you say that. Mackenzie Phillips was a drug addict in real life and had to leave the show a few times because of her problem. Julie could be headstrong and rebellious but look who her mother is. Ann got angry too often (yet not at Schneider constantly trespassing ).
