Does anyone else find this strange? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

How This Wonder Years message board, and many other message boards of very popular shows gets so few posts while other message boards with shows that were ranked near 20 and 30 and even worse in the ratings have so much more posters? You would think that the message boards of shows like the Wonder Years would be flooded daily with tons of posts. Has anyone else ever wondered about this?

Oh I know. Its one of my top 5 fav. shows, but I hardly come here, because its all the same.

typically, shows that were popular and never made much controversy or risky decisions behind the scenes are hardly remembered that much. you also have to take into consideration wide syndication airplay of reruns and time zones and all of that technical talk. also, some fans are very out-spoken on both sides of an issue and it's shows that still create interest in the mainstream well after they've left the air that get the most posts on message boards. nostalgia also plays a factor too. "The Wonder Years" ran from 1988-1993 and in my opinion it's limited airings in syndication reruns have hurt the show's legacy. but give it a few years and a new generation discovers the show (either on Nick at Nite or TV Land) again. "I Love Lucy" has been "on the air" since it's debut. "The Andy Griffith Show" has been on TV since 1960! "All in the Family", etc. i hope you gear your frustrations toward local TV and the people who own the rights to the show. it's their lack of airplay that has caused "The Wonder Years" and a whole lot of other shows that had good runs to get ignored. "Empty Nest" ran on NBC from 1988-1995 but the only time that show was ever remembered was when the media was doing memorials to Richard Mulligan and they had a blurb about the show!
