Posting and editing on this site has become a nightmare

When it takes an hour or longer to post a thread and then try to make edits then something is wrong somewhere. It's almost impossible to make edits because the cursor goes where it wants to and not where I need it. Try to space paragraphs and the entire page moves with you. The fact I'm using a phone may be why, but regardless of whether it is or not nobody should have to go through this much hell just to post a thread.

Editing posts can take a long time at certain times of the day even on a desktop PC. It's a very large database with millions of tables. It's almost 6 GB without any of the attachments. It seems like it's about ten times as slow for you on your phone for some reason.

Do you have a PC/laptop/tablet you can test it on? I'm not sure why anyone would use a phone if they have a PC/laptop/tablet available. This forum sofware isn't optimized for mobile, even though we have some mobile/responsive themes. Phones are fine for quickly looking up information, but I wouldn't want to type more than a few words on them. Formatting would be a nightmare. I wouldn't have the patience to deal with it.

It seems like this is an isolated issue for you. Maybe it's your phone or Wi-Fi connection. TMC has no problems posting 30-40 threads in an hour. opus doesn't seem to have any major issues posting on his phone.

Im at the library now using CHROME and its much slower than when im at home going thru a proxy on IE6.

I cannot disable scripts here (at library) which may be part of the problem... (At home I usually have them disabled which allows much faster loading of things)

Only an uninformed opinion, but when you look at the figures on who's online, right now you see 17 members and 1368 guests.

Hard to believe there are over 1300 search engine crawlers on here. Whatever all this stuff is, it's gotta contribute at least a little to the slowness of the site.

Im glad its been much better though lately.... A few weeks ago I started to get alot of timeouts again and I PMed Todd and asked him to please get on the host again about this and I thiink he did
