Default A nice picture of Mary

Just wanna alert anyone who might
like to see a nice picture of Mary
that they haven't seen before. It's in an Entertainment Weekly book called "The 100 Greatest TV Shows of All Time." Just got mine at a Barnes and Nobel, where they always have remainder books, for $5.98. There are different series from EW and some are pretty good, but way overpriced at their original price of $29.95, that they have been selling much cheaper lately. Anyway, it's a picture of
Mary and Dick warming up the audience
before an episode. (Didn't know they did that.) Dick has on his ski pants
and boots so it must have been the
"Don't Fall Off The Mountain" episode. But Mary looks very cute
standing there and laughing with her
hands and face scrunched up at something probably Dick said. Sorry
I don't have the means to scan the picture. Maybe someone else will.
Just a very cute picture.

Thanks Samme! That pic sounds great, I'll have to check it out.

Thanks, Samme
I'm always on the lookout for great pics of our favorite girl! Barnes & Nobel, huh? Think I'll head out there today.

Roz and Steve (and anyone else),

If you can't find it at B&N, I just
did a check at www.bookfinder.com
(a great site) and there are multiple
copies at www.half.com in "like new"
condition starting at $0.75! That's
a great deal and I've always liked
half.com. I should have mentioned the
book is about 9" by 12", 144 pgs, and
kinda nice in itself. The picture is
a full page and near the beginning.
I like it because it's so relaxed and
she looks very girlish. Very much a
"tee-hee" look. And it's kinda unusual to
see a new picture from those years. Hope everyone finds it who is interested.

Thanks to the man at B&N who couldn't find his arse with both hands, it took me about 20 minutes to find the book, but I finally did and what a cute picture! Too bad it was taken while they were moving so it's kind of blurry, but still a good pic nonetheless. I also found a new book called 'Stay Tuned' in the Radio/Film/TV section with a really cute cast pic of Dick, Mary, Rose Marie, and Morey that I don't remember ever seeing before.

Went to B&N to see the pic, but no one there knew where to look. That's OK.
Thanks to you, Samme, I ordered my copy yesterday at half.com for $0.75! Even with shipping, it comes to less than $4.00. Looking forward to seeing the pic. It'll make a great coffee table book too.

Hmm, maybe they were related to the man at the B&N I went to? It's not in the Film/TV/Radio section (contrary to what the B&N man kept insisting on telling me), its on a seperate stand thingy with all the other special value books. But it looks like you got a better deal on it at Half anyway! And yes, it is a lovely book and will be a nice coffee table addition. Even if it didn't have that nice picture of Dick and Mary in it I think I would still get it. A definite must have for any TV fan IMO. Now if I can only hold out until my tuition is paid off.....

Thanks for the tip Samme! I got my $0.75 copy in the mail today. To my surprise, I have seen the picture before, and I even have a scanned autographed copy already. I'm glad I got the book anyway though because it does look like a good read. I look forward to reading it.

Since I'm sure a lot of you are curious to see the picture, I'm attaching it below. Sorry that it's a little more brown then the original.

Wow, I'm amazed that you had already seen that (and an autographed copy yet!). I would have bet just about anything--and
lost--that Mary had never seen it either.
Whenever I check out pictures at ebay
it's continually "seen it, seen it" till
I get bored with trying. I feel liked
I'd seen everything. What I love to occasional find are those pictures that the show seems to have done every week(?) where the actors do a bit in character (Laura taking Rob's temperature, etc.)
for promos that would appear in newspapers for that weeks show. I'd
love to see all of them in a book or in a booklet for the dvd collection. They're
fun to see because their always connected to a certain show yet posed and slightly different. The Andy Griffith Show did a lot of those promos too and they showed
up when they did a whole series of collectible cards that were sold.

Christina, thanks for posting that picture! I had never seen it before (and like many of you have already said, I've seen a LOT of pictures of Mary! LOL!). It's definitely a cute one! Is it from a specific episode or something? It doesn't look like a regular publicity shot.

I guess I didn't realize that I had so many rare pictures. For many months, I search web sites, ebay, and anything else I could find for pictures. I couldn't even say where I found this picture, except that it was a long time ago.

I just looked in my folders, and I have more then 200 pictures that have to do with the show. I guess when I get time, I'll start going through to see if I can find any others that you all might not have seen.

I change my mind about posting. I just looked at the folder again, and there are way too many pictures. After finding 10 in only the first folder, there would be too many that I consider rare to be able to post all of them here.

My next thought was to just offer to email my file folders to whoever is interested. Then I checked the size and found that they are 22.3MB! Way too big to email.

So I guess in the next few weeks, I'll work on weeding out the ones that I think are pretty rare, and put them in their own folder. Maybe I can get it down to a reasonable size for emailing. If any of you are interested in receiving them when I'm done, PM me your email address.

Default Another Coincidence

As I previously stated, I ordered that book too, and at a bargain. As it turns out, my girlfriend and I just celebrated another anniversary together, and she got me a bunch of really cool DVD stuff. One of which was a CD with snapshots from practice runs and behind the scenes of the show, and guess what? That pic was one of them!
Kristen, I think it's from an audience warm-up by Dick and Mary before shooting episode #52, "Don't Trip Over That Mountain."
The book is probably at my PO Box now. I'd better go get it tomorrow.
I can never have too many pics of Laura!
