I always thought Hawaii grew the most pineapples, but that's not the case. They really only grow enough for the tourists. The top pineapple producing countries are Indonesia, Philippines, and Costa Rica. |

PhoenixAcres quotes:
DYK This thread, with 142,451 views, is the third-most viewed thread of all time on the Chit Chat forum Well, I guess this shows that we are not a bunch of unintelligent Airheads who are not interested in anything serious or informative as one Suspended Member(you know who!) insists.

Hopefully there will be something in this thread that Zoneboy didn't learn in grade school 40 years ago.

Can you imagine a bird no larger than your thumb?
Needless to say, this teeny chap is the smallest bird in the world. He is the bee hummingbird, and he weighs less than a U.S. penny. Flapping its wings 80 times a second—almost 5,000 beats per minute—it darts from bush to vine, feasting on flowers and insects to fuel its hyperactivity. In fact, the hungry little fella eats half of its body weight in food every day and is able to visit 1,500 flowers a day to quench its thirst. Sugar-rich flower water gives vital energy, and insects provide protein. Capable of flying for up to 20 hours without a break, they certainly need the calories. During a courtship sortie, their wing beats increase up to 200 times per second, the same as the ruby-throated hummingbird; that’s faster than all other birds on the planet. Often mistaken for large bumblebees, they weigh less than 0.07 ounces. |

Did you know- that bobcats are often confused for large tabbies!? (It's true. Please don't make this mistake.)
Bobcats are one of the most widely spread and adaptive hunters in North America. They prowl forests, deserts, swamplands, and suburban backyards at twilight in search of food, which is basically any small mammal or bird. If you spot one, the iconic bobbed tail should tip you off that this is no domestic cat. |

Weird Al Yankovic turned down a 5 million dollar beer endorsement deal. He thought it was ethically wrong because a lot of his fans were young and impressionable.
