NHL Star Johnny Gaudreau killed in car-bike crash
This was very sad and tragic news to read this morning. He was one of my favorite NHL players. He was a dynamic undersized player. I always played him in my DraftKings lineups. Rest in peace Johnny Hockey and his brother, Matthew.

 I remember a few years ago some Islanders fans thought he’d be signing here in free agency and then booed him every time he touched the puck in his first game here with Columbus, even though he said he never talked to the Islanders. |

He was electric on home ice. They played “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry after he scored.
I was surprised when he signed with Columbus. He probably would have taken a hometown discount to play with New Jersey or Philadelphia. I guess Columbus made him the best offer. |

The sister canceled the wedding. Can you imagine it’s the eve of your wedding and instead you’re going to your two brothers funeral? And the reason they were in town was to be groomsmen? It’s tragically unthinkable.

I had totally forgotten till someone pointed it out today that Matthew Guadreau was in the Islanders farm system. That’s probably where the Johnny to the big club thoughts got started.

Friday was supposed to be one of the happiest days in their lives. Gone in an instant due to a drunk driver. It's a devastating tragedy for their family. It's going to hurt for a long time.
