Grr! I was watchin a re-run of the episode "Orion in the Sky", Mark's last day in the ER, and Dr. Pratt's first day...I totally forgot what a jerk Pratt was to Mark in that episode! And then I thought it was funny when Pratt was trying to apologize, Mark goes "Someone told you I was dying"...lol...Anyway, I just posted this to see if I was the only one who disliked Dr. Pratt...also, what was the deal with the whole thing on the episode last week...I mean, Dr. Pratt shocking that guy who'd already been pronounced, and then later, when he was dying again, he couldn't say anything to make the guy's two little boys feel any better...he just sorta stood there...I dont' know...maybe I'm crazy...but I REALLY don't like Pratt...

Yeah, Pratt is a little too cocky and self assured for his own good. He reminds me of another brash young Doctor who they got rid of because he was an arrogant jerk. Malucci, was it?
Still, Pratt got knocked down a peg or two after his "life saver" stunt last week. Maybe he'll be more careful next time. |

Personally I think Pratt is really smart and really is a nice guy, but he just doesn't present himself well. He's too cocky.

I LOVE Pratt. Seriously. Like if I met him, of course I would probably hate him, but as a character who is rife with opportunities to develop and who so far has been developing very nicely, I can't get enough of him.
Personally, I think everyone came down on him too hard for trying to bring back that guy after he had been pronounced. I think he made a poor decision as a result of being underexperienced, but I personally don't think he was doing it because he was feeling cocky. If any of you have that eppy on tape (I don't) watch how he acts in that scene. He was not acting cocky, he was acting like a doctor that wanted to save a life, a father of two young boys. He didn't have any words of comfort for the boys because he is unexperienced, but at least he tried by offering to take them to the cafeteria. That's more than can be said for how Elizabeth handled telling that guy that his daughter was dead. I really like the actor playing Pratt too. I agree Pratt is vaguely similar to Malucci, but really only in that they are both cocky. Pratt is more abrasive, and at the same time more sensitive, and already Pratt's character has been developed more than Malucci's ever was. I love Pratt and can't wait to see where the writers are taking him. And I also can't wait until Gallant punches him out next week! Should be good! (I like Gallant too). |
