Default Batman (1966-1968) - Timeline

This is the timeline for the Batman television series, set in Earth-66 of both the DC Comics Multiverse and the DC Live-Action Multiverse, as well as existing in the DC Animated Multiverse.

Timeline Reasoning
  • Codename: Action takes place in 1965 according to the Green Hornet wiki. It's not a solid placement, though, and I didn't spot any date claiming such, but there's nothing contradicting it I guess.
  • The Batmobile has a manufacturing date of 1966.
  • In The Green Hornet '66 Meets The Spirit #1, the Spirit is said to come out of retirement on July 15th, 1966. The first 2 issues occur in succession. It's placement is approximately the middle of the year.
  • In Batman 1x07, James Gordon states "Ice in July?".
  • School is active in Batman 1x15, meaning it's sometime after September. It's further implied when Dick mentions that pre-college exams start in 3 days. The ACT (American College Testing) is held on September at the earliest. Since Batman confusingly mentions it being a school holiday the next day, it's presumed he meant that it was Saturday.
  • The Green Hornet '66 Meets The Spirit #3-5 are set in December.
  • In Batman 2x32, Santa Claus acknowledges that "it's almost Christmas".
  • In Batman 2x53, the Narrator states it's "The start of a new semester at ivy covered Yale University".
  • Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet takes place in Spring. Robin states he got an A+ in his Diving Education last week. He passed his driving license in Batman 3x01, "Enter Batgirl, Exit Penguin". All episodes in Season 3 take place straight after each other.
  • Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders presumably occurs after the show.
  • Batman vs. Two-Face has a 6 month jump near the beginning after a montage of fights with Two-Face.
  • Batman '66 takes place after Batman vs. Two-Face as it sees Hugo Strange with a new identity as Doctor Hugo, Holly Quinn become Harlequin and Harvey became Two-Face for the first time (his evil side returned when he was scarred from acid in Batman '66: The Lost Episode).
  • Batman '66 #17, "The Inevitable Jail-Term" refers to new 1966 police rule books. This is ignored as it contradicts the TV show.
  • Batman '66 #27-28 is set in August as a woman asks if it's still such after her You-Cooler goes off.
  • Batman '66 #46, "The Short Halloween" happens during Halloween.
  • Batman '66 #47-48 takes place in Spring.
  • Batman '66 Meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is set after Batman '66 due to Hugo Strange.
  • Batman '66 Meets Steed and Mrs Peel references Batman's time in England as seen in Batman '66.
  • Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Super-Heroes states that it is set in 1966, but this is impossible due to Batgirl's appearance. It is set after Batman '66 due to the appearance of Solomon Grundy.
  • Archie Meets Batman '66 is set after Batman '66 due to the appearance of Poison Ivy.
  • Legends of the Superheroes is placed in it's release year.
  • Supergirl 5x09, "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 1" takes place on December 10th, 2019. A now retired Dick Grayson is walking his dog when a wave of Anti-Matter destroys his universe. He exclaims "holy crimson skies of death!" and is wiped from existence. Earth-66 is restored after the Anti-Monitor Crisis.
