This wasn't a bad episode, but still a little off the show's rhythm. There was a little too much physical comedy by AITF standards. And where was George Wyner, who played Sidney Shapiro a couple of times on AITF? Sidney was becoming a pretty decent recurring character. But Wyner was apparently unavailable, so Sidney was played by some cheap knockoff.
Notice that even the Edith episodes start with an establishing scene at the saloon, a subtle way of showing that the bar is now the main setting of the series, and 704 Hauser is a secondary setting. |

Well, I'm trying my best not to judge the show just by a few episodes. It might pick up a bit after a few more episodes, but my feeling at the moment is they should've left well enough alone.
I still look forward to having *hopefully* the full series on tape. That way if a few years from now, I want to catch some eps I can say I have them. |

This wasn't the first time Edward Marshall replaced a recurring actor for one episode. He also did this on "Dark Shadows" for the character of Harry Johnson.
So far out of the six episodes I've seen, I'd say this has been my favorite. Edith was hillarious in it. I liked that instead of most of the episodes (excluding #3) so far, this took place almost exclusively at the Bunker residence. |

I'm warming up to the series. I haven't had a chance to watch the episode yet, I taped it, so I'll watch it eventually. The Jean Stapleton episodes have been the best so far, but I did like "Archie and the Oldest Profession" that was a pretty good episode. As much as I want to see "Archie Alone" I'm dreading it because it means no more appearances by Jean Stapleton.

I thought it was a very entertaining episode, but I'm just trying to determine, what makes this series great, but for now I'll just have to wait on that thought. I'm still looking foward to "Archie Alone" which I'm expecting should be really good, right now I'm getting a bigger perspective of the show, when I watch the series more and more.
