Great, one question, exactly who is Tis! This item sounds like it came from some press agent. Maybe it was the press agent for the show trying to drum up interest in the couple. If BestTVever's speculation is correct it could have been item planted by Powers agent to deflect rumors, the reader might infer that Stanis and Powers had dated but he didn't want to get married.

I am talking about when he left the show there were multiple reports and rumors he was gay. He never did get married. Not a big deal but in 1978 it would have killed anyone's career to admit they were gay. Its all speculation but she was so attractive it is another clue that the rumors may have been true. Not a big deal at all. There are the same rumors about another cast member.

It was not a rumor especially since he kissed another guy in one of the eps in season 6

Google is everyone's friend. These rumors about 2 cast members being gay have existed for decades. Don't shoot the messenger. I think when both were confronted never shot down the rumors either. Not a big deal at all. Gay cast members existed on every show on TV. Good Times is no different.
