In 1983 Swanson debuted an interesting line of TV dinners that were made to look like meals at a fancy restaurant. The line's name Le Menu and to honor it's debut a commercial was made. With violin music and a chef preparing the meals as shown in the intro of the commercial. Le Menu was a smart concept for Swanson to experiment with and it sure sold well. With dinners such as Cordon Bleu lasagna and many other foods Le Menu was a success and a lot of people bought these interesting TV dinners. I am not sure if Le Menu TV dinners are still on the market but it's amazing how food commercials showed the future of food during the 80's

I think when Swanson launched the Le Menu frozen entree line I think Swanson was trying to appeal to a new audience that wanted to try fancy foods and the Le Menu line gave them that chance. I must admit by watching the commercial and learning some of the Le Menu entrees looked interesting like Cordon Bleu and O'Gratin potatoes with cheese and for a wonderful meal these entrees sure sold well
