Question Freddie's looks

After seeing the IRS episode this morning, I wondered--are these shows being presented in wildly random order or something? Compared to the way Freddie looked in the episode Friday, he looked positively healthy in this one! His nose didn't look so much like it was broken, and his skin wasn't so blotchy. Even his eyes looked better. Or were there just times when he was doing less drugs than usual? Don't addicts just keep taking more and more and developing a tolerance? I'll grant you his jeans were still baggy in the rear and his hands looked sorta bony, but nothing like the apartment episode! Watch and let me know what you think--did he seem to have ups and downs or just a steady decline?

P. S.--The bit where he pretended to be "Ed Brown"'s accountant was hysterical, true Freddie--another indication he was OK that day!

Mariposa,
I thought the very same thing when I saw the episode this morning-his face looked better-still he was terribly thin-I noticed when they showed a full length shot of him. His eyes were not quite so sunk in and his skin didn't look as dark as it did on Friday's show. I checked the episode guide and it does not give air dates for season #3 but I then went to the site on TVland where they list upcoming shows for the next two weeks and they don't match so they must be showing them randomly. Up until now the episode guide has followed the aired shows but why they are changing now-I have no idea-that's TVland for you!! Seems they go gung ho over a show in the beginning then dump it like a hot potato when something else comes along-like Get Smart!!!
Anyway-these are my thoughts on the subject and I think we need a new topic for Hubba Hubba Club-what do you think?? I'm ready to set another message area on fire!!! Are you and all the other gals with me-let's think up a good one!!
Bye for now-
Esmerelda
BTW-Mariposa-your tape should be there by the end of the week--enjoy!!!!

Red face

I can't believe it but, I thought the same thing when I saw today's episode. He looked way better today (less beat up). I'm going to look at the "Della moves in episode" and see how he looked in that one. We missed out on 2 episodes....

I thought the same thing. Check the numbers out on any listing of the episodes and the Chico moves out is episode 45 and the IRS is episode 48. Unless they were originally aired out of sequence of taping(always a possibility) and the episode numbers reflect the original airing sequence. I notice that the airing dates are missing for many of the later episodes on the list I use(The Loooking Goood website)I'm not sure why that is. It is rather confusing. I always thought that the IRS episode was one of the funnier ones from season 3. I thought that Freddie and Scatman worked well together and it was great to see them featured so prominently in this episode. Maybe Freddie was having a better week, health wise when the IRS episode was aired. He could have been sick (other than from drug use) when the Chico moves out episode was taped. Who knows.

Does anyone know if TVLand will run all the shows again once they get through all of them? I didn't start taping them until late and I'd like to get some of the early ones.

Esmerelda, here's a thought for the hubba-hubba club -- If Freddie can see what's going on down here and he reads the hubba hubba club entries on this bulletin board, what does he say?

I hope they start over. I, to missed the first five episodes. I didn't think about taping them till week two(Where WAS my head at?) I always think he must be smiling and even laughing a little when he sees how devoted and a little crazy we all are for him after all these years. He always wanted to be remembered, and I'm glad to be part of a group that can fulfill this dream for him at least.

Hey, did anyone notice in Della pt.1 that the van is back. Talk about inconsistant and confusing? What's up with that. I'm waiting for the episode when they build the apartment out of the storeroom. I know they talked about it and even started planning for it in the Chico moves out episode. Was there an episode showing any of the construction stage, or did it mysteriously appear, sorta like the van disappearing and reappearing. I think Freddie's personal problems weren't the only thing going wrong with the show. Talk about inconsistancy. What gives? Any Ideas?

Also another thing I noticed in the Della Pt 1 if I'm looking correctly is that Chico is wearing one of those V neck type white t-shirts under his blue shirt. Of course the shirt is unbuttoned way down some enough to show it. Uh oh I'm liable to make some other chicks drool when I mention that LOL!

In other episode Ed is ticked off & talks like he's going to Dellas to get a donut or pastry or something like she had a diner or something. In the Della pt. 1 I don't recall her having a diner in that episode. Unless she got rid of that & went to being a land lady-- uh landperson as she would say.

I have a bunch of old teen stat mags from the 60's & 70's more 70's that 60's. Most of them I collected in my teen yrs. I looked thru some of them out of curiosity to see if anything on Chico was in there but I only found a few things in there. Now that I recall it I think he was in the movie star magazines more. I did find one blurb in one on his death. ALl it was was a nice pic of him with a Freddie Prinze 1954-1977 written on it. Shoot, they shouldv'e given him more of a tribute. Maybe they were afraid for teenagers to find out the whole story. Who knows?

Peace!

No offense, Cheryl, but I'd rather they'd stuck with the half-unbuttoned shirt and NO undershirt!!! Suppose it was a cover for the fact that his ribs were sticking out too much?

I agree with ya. It didn't look right him having that t-shirt under his regular shirt. Ditch the T-shirt Chico! I have no idea why he wore it tho...

One cool thing I noticed about him was he escaped the whole bad clothes thing from the 70's ya know like the plaid bell bottoms etc. I noticed he never wore any of the nutty stuff like that. He wore bell bottoms like everyone else (& I love bellbottoms. Even now LOL!) but they were nice looking ones & not the weird plaid ones. Chico had nice fashion taste.

Back then you had to have the crease in the Jeans. That was the style. Right smack down the middle. If Freddie is looking down at us. I'm first, I'm first! LOL
