Angry This makes me so MAD!

We had to vote for homecoming court on Friday, and all the preppy people were voting for this boy name David who has ADD who's kinda like, the official "let's-pick-on-him" kid. They were only voting for him as a big mean joke. I mean, this kid's life is hell enough because of those people, then they're gonna go and make it worse by doing this.

Even worse, they're pairing him up with the meanest, preppiest girl in our class.

Someday, someone's gonna go too far. Someone's gonna end up killing themseles and/or others. I really hate my class. What they're doing makes me sick. I sat in my room last night and cried for over an hour. Why do people have to be so MEAN to eachother? I don't get it.

That really pisses me off too. That is so cruel and it's terrible that people will do things like that. It sounds like something that could hapen at my school. The preppies will always vote for the preppies and win, or the preppies will vote for someone they constantly tease and that person will win for the preppies to make fun of.

Ugh. People are jerks. If I were you, Id seriously put in an anonymous complaint to the principal or something.
Yeah, they always pick on the *outsiders* although, I remember the class of 2001 (I was 2002) voted this girl Suzie nicest smile as a joke because she has a mouth like a horse..and she was like, one of the most popular girls in school.

Southwest H.S. got their homecoming taken away because of this exact same thing. David won't go to the office about it like the person at Southwest did cuz he's so quiet. I don't know what to do. I want this to stop but I don't wanna be responsible for homecoming being taken away.

I still say make an anonymous complaint. What would happen if David won?? That would be SO embarassing and cruel for him. Or, you could rally together some other people who feel the same way you do and do some sorta protest or something...

the freshman did that this year... they picked this short, overwieght boy who gets made fun of all the time probably and he was with this preppy little blonde bimbo. leave it to freshman to do something mean like that.

I dunno what to do. If David wins, there will be a lot of people upset. We could all complain and just make them take the runner up.

id beat the **** out of one of the preps (im bigger than all of em anyway) and then tell the rest if they voted for him that they'd end up like their friend. since were minors... we can do just about anything off school property... and not get arrested. which makes my 18th birthday, a bittersweet day... because after it I actually have to take responsibility for myself. but anyway... beat someone up. it feels really good.

That is so cruel. I agree with MilknPepsi about the anonymous complaint. You could always try and convince your classmates that this is stupid, and why would we even want to do something like that. However, I doubt that would work.

I hated school for that reason. The people that were the outsiders were always the outsiders. The preps acted all high and mighty and picked on anybody that wasn't in their little group. I'm sorry people, but when you hit the real world the little popularity contests won't cut it. You can't pout and plead for a job claiming "I was head cheerleader and Prom Queen!" Won't work. It just won't work.

If you really want to remain anonymous, type out the letter on the computer. A person can distinguish handwriting, but they won't with printer ink.

They had a kid like that in my high school. But he was, how would you say it? An outsider not many friends and they voted him class president or vice president. I forget which one. But I don't think they did it to be mean. They did it to be nice.

If David wins tell him not to show up at the prep rally or homecoming game

David wasn't going to go to homecoming anyway cuz he's so shy. The pep rally is during school hours, though, so he pretty much has to go to that.

What also makes me mad is that the preps judge him based on what they SEE. They've never even talked to him. Well, they have, but they're usually questions like, "Hey, David. You wanna come over to my party? Everyone wants to to go. I can get you a date" in that unmistakable mean voice. He's actually pretty cool and he's SO smart. All he does is, like, point out the obvious, kinda follow you around and repeat things, and sometimes talk about things that are kinda dumb. But other than that, he's no different from anyone else.

This just reinforces my theory that school kids are some of the cruelest people on earth.
When I was in my final year at school we had to vote for the 6th Year Awards. A lot of people voted for this girl called Fiona for 'Best Looking Girl' just to be mean. She was really unpopular and she'd never had a boyfriend so I guess all the trendies thought it'd be really funny if she was voted 'Best Looking Girl'. IMO, Fiona was actually quite cute. She was a little overweight and her haircut definately didn't do her any favours but I took the time to talk to her - something the trendies never did - and I discovered she was an extrememly intelligent and very interesting girl. It broke my heart to see everyone treating her like crap. It hurt me ever more watching her laugh it off like she didn't care when it was obvious how deeply hurt she was.
My advice to Rockapella is the same as a few other people have said - make an anonymous complaint. Say what you think is happening and say that you are just worried about this boy's feelings.
My life in school was made miserable by bullies and I only wish that someone had helped and stood up for me once in a while. Help David out. He'd want you to.
I wish there were more people like you in the world.
