Talking I'm Typing With One Hand and Ripping My Hair Out With the Other, and This is Why...

Homecoming is coming up soon and I am glad cuz I know I'll have a good time, but my mom is making me feel terrible cuz I don't seem to be excited. My date is a really great girl who is one of my best friends, but she lives in Milwaukee. My mom is wierd this way, but this is what I'm thinking: My mom's not gonna like her as much solely because she is from Milwaukee and we are from a "safer" and "better" neighborhood. Today she found out and she seemed okay, but then she asked why I thought that and I confessed that that's the way she can be. After I told her that, she got sooooo pissed at me (like always) and made me feel like sh*t yet again. SOMEBODY GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!

Well, we're just friends, nothing more. And I'm not trying to sound rude either, but it's no one's business who I like and who I don't.

Quite true, especially if she's a friend. I honestly think friends make better dates to those things anyway.

And who cares where she lives?? That sounds like something someone in my stuck up town would say. "Oh my God...she's from....Des Moines!!!! Evil!!"

That's so true. Our rival town is just 20 miles North from us and someone always gets an attitude when you talk to someone else from there.

Ah, you are not the only one ripping your hair out, my friend. I must get away from this household before I jump out my window and run away. My parents are driving me absolutely out of my mind.

That's a realy odd thing to say considering he has Shirley Manson all over is siggy and avatar!

BTW - what's Homecoming? From the many movies and American TV shows I watch I know that there is always a dance to celebrate and someone gets crowned Homecoming King and Queen but I'm still unclear as to what exactly Homecoming is supposed to celebrate.

Well, first of all, I think it's lost its original premise somewhere along the way, which was, in short, when all the alumni came back to town for the big home football game.

Now it seems like it's just a chance to toilet paper the trees and taunt the team your school is playing. And have a rather stupid dance the night after the game.
