I read that Ward Weaver has been charged in the deaths of Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis. The state of Oregon will seek the death penalty against him. (As you know, the segment on the girls' disappearances recently aired on UM.)
Ironically, Weaver's own father is on death row in California for killing a couple. |

Yeah...that was a pretty sad case here in Oregon. On the news a few nights ago, it was reported that the authorities in Oregon City were going to file charges against the child service workers that ignored reports that Weaver was sexually abusing Ashley prior to her death. They are more than likely going to be fired from their jobs. Serves them right.

And as for Ward Weaver, if the state of Oregon has its way, he'll rightly end up where his father is: On death row. (Actually, his father is in the death house in California, not in Oregon.) |

Ok, it's official: On the local news tonight (KEZI), they broke in with an update. The one case worker who was assigned to the complaints from Ashley Pond (I thought there were two, but there is just one) received three different telephone reports, and followed up on NONE. Doesn't surprise me, it happens more than it should. Anyway, today he was officially fired.
