Talking Getting to see Freddie

I'm glad the shows are back on the air because I'm getting to see Freddie once again. I taped the episodes and if I feel blue or need to get away from the kids. I pop in a tape. His imitations and jokes are so funny! Such a talented man he was! Last night I just had to see the episode where Liz grabbed his ankle and pulled him from underneath the car he was working on. Then they kissed....... WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Taping is nice too, because we don't have to be at the mercy of TVLand. I can have a CATM marathon anytime I want and I don't even have to watch the commercials!!! It helps me get through the long dry weekends when CATM is not on.

I know what you all mean- it's hard for a poor workin' stiff to stay up till almost midnight to catch her favorite show-I taped the first several shows of the marathon (until the whole tape was full). The earlier episides were the best! Let's keep on buggin TVLand to air the show on prime time!

I just recently started taping the show so am behind on getting the epsiodes. I told my hubby when they start showing the RAUL episodes they are going on a different tape than the CHICO ones cuz they are almost like a different show sort-of.

Fortunately I'm a housewife so I can stay up as late as I want & watch tv while hubby sleeps. I had gotten used to the current TVLAND schedule & now they want to change on me. Yikes! The new 8- 11 PM sched isn't too much different just EMERGENCY back on at 8 like it used to instead of BARNEY MILLER & HOGANS HEROES. & GET SMART added instead of a 2nd ANDY GRIFFITH. But the rest is too confusing.

In order to see CHICO during the new time change, I've gotta either get up for 30 mins at 5 am to tape so I can be able to edit out the commercials or sleep & let the satellite dish tape it while I sleep. I can't get to the dual deck VCR to let the satellite dish feed into it. Yikes! It works on the main VCR tho thank goodness! I definately will let the VCR tape it for me when they start showing the RAUL episodes. When they show the RAUL epsidoes, I hope it's while I'm on vacation LOL! That way, I won't have to miss taping the Chico ones. I'll have to tape MAUDE too as it's on 5:30 am. I'll let that one tape while I sleep. As it is TVLAND forces me to stay up till 4 am alot of times cuz they have ADAM 12 on at 3 AM & DRAGNET on at 3:30 am. Problem is I love too many of the shows on there & that presents a time problem LOL!

We can't get any of the paid cable channels believe it or not. We live in the country & the local cable co will not put cable on our part of the road. We do have an old satellite the big kind that belonged to my late Aunt & Uncle that my cousin gave us since he wasn't using it. It was made before they had the cable channels scrambled. You could get a descrambler for it to get the paid channels but I have never been able to find one for it. Fortunately we can get TVLAND on there & some of the religious & home shopping channels & the satellite news feeds & some small satellite dish channels playing special programming like old movies etc. With there not being much on regular tv theses days worth watching I am so happy to have that! What a blessing to get all the good old shows like CHICO & ANDY GRIFFITH, GOMER PYLE, DICK VAN DYKE & so forth. I thank Freddie Prinze & Dick Van Dyke & Andy Griffith etc for providing me with good shows to watch every day!

The new TVLAND SCHEDULE is gonna have me soo confused LOL!

I discovered something interesting. I looked at a listing on TVLANDS website that lists what CHICO epsodes are coming on TVLAND for the next coupla weeks & compared it to a listing of all the episodes the CHICO episodes I found on a website. If I'm right, the way TVLAND is running them or supposed to seems to be showing them in much similar order to the order they were origionally out in excepting the weird time or 2 they seem to be off an episode or so.

If that's the case, then I figured out they'll be showing only 2 more weeks of CHICO episodes before they go into the RAUL ones. That'd be 10 CHICOS. Yikes! I figured out the RAUL ones to be with TVLAND showing them once day, 5 days a week to be about 5 weeks & 1 days worth. Then it would probably be back to the CHICO ones again. I am just taking a guesstimation here as I don't know their whole schedule for the month of April.

My hubby told me that I should've taped the marathon. He should've told me earlier LOL! They put it back on finally & started watching it again for the first time since it went off in the 70's. & am now really getting into it bigtime now....

I found these CHICO message boards AOL plus another CHICO message board on the net but they aren't as active as these ones.

AOL CHICO MESSAGE BOARDS URRL (ADDRESS):

aol://5863:126/mBLA:471279

You type that in your AOL browser & save it under your favorites.

I wrote on some TVLAND message boards on AOL asking them to please move CHICO to primetime. Hope they listen.

(Edited for spelling errors LOL!)

Talking

Well Cheryl, It seems I have to wake up at 5 AM to tape the rest of Chico. I don't know how to use the VCR that I've been taping Chico on. I've had a number of VCR's over the years and I've never mastered the one I'm using now & I'm not about to start now. I'm just going to have to drag myself out of bed for Freddie!!!! I'll look at the shows with a BIG cup of coffee. Anything for Freddie! As for the Raul episodes, I'll tape them and possibly erase them all except for the Raul running away episode where Ed talks about Chico. I'll keep just that one.

Those VCR's can be hard to master. Fortunately ours I was able to figure out. My hubby still has no idea how to set up one to tape by timer. I have to do all that for any shows we tape, even ones he wantes tapes. He does know how to pop in the tpae & hit the timer button with the info set up in it already bu me LOL! You may want to look at the book for the VCR & see if that helsp you any. In order to tape off our satellite dish I have to plug cables into the front of the VCR. SInce when tapeing thru the cable it doesn't seem to list a channel number I may have a hardtime setting it up to tape via timer. Yikes!

OK, who is the dolt who writes the episode summaries for TVLand? "Ed Brown 'highers' senior citizens???" The word is HIRE, thank you very much.

I noticed the typos & those that was funny. Imean they weren't just a misspelled letter but the whole word. LOL! I wondered if maybe some young person was doing the typing there. Cool to see another Virginian. I've been to the Fairfax area before.

I got success today in being able to get the VCR to tape off the satellite by timer. Looking Good!

I just wrote Looking Good on here & I'll be dog, a CHICO ad came on TVLAND & he goes Looking Good. Neat coincidence!
