Default Grace's New Beau, Harry Connick Jr.

I have a question regarding the newest man in Miss Alder's life...

Is Harry Connick going to be a regular on the show, or is he just going to be in a few episodes, break up with Grace and then vanish.

I gotta tell you, the whole "guest boyfriend" thing is getting a little tiresome. We've had Gregory Hines, Woddy Harrelson, now Mr. Connick Jr.

From fan's standpoint, its frustrating to see Grace lose another guy she thinks is "the one" she's trying so desparatly to find.

From a TV viewer's standpoint, it's just a tired attempt to draw viewers with the "guest star."

If they really want her to find Mr Right, then stop teasing us with the guests, and hire a new guy as a full time cast member.

There, I'll get off my soapbox for now.

Personally, I hope he doesn't stay for too long because I don't think Harry Connick Jr. is the best actor for this job. He's just not funny. Place him in a serious role in a drama or something, then maybe he'd fit. But in "Will & Grace....?" Not so much.

I think he's on for half the season, so we will probably see Grace go through the whole, Let's get married thing again. I agree with you that it is tiresome. I think it's funny watching the various guest star boyfriend but it would be better to have a regular person. One of the problems with guest stars is that say for example, we like somebody a lot this person will not be able to stay if Grace and he have major chemistry. The same thing happened on Ally Mcbeal. Everybody loved Robert Downey Jr. and when he left there was serious backlash.

If they do add another cast member that ends up being Grace's boyfriend, I don't think they should do it until later on. The series is still pretty young.

One movie star I would love to see on the show would be Matthew Mccoughay. I think he would be good on the show. They should do an episode where MM plays himself and he's Stan's nephew. Grace starts to date him and Grace reads an article that says that he's more prettier than her and she becomes jealous. so she dumps him. I also think it would be funny if Karen doesn't get that he's a celebrity.

I like your idea! It would be funny to see Matt on that show. The idea that Karen has no idea who he is would be very funny.

Still, he might remind the audience to much of Grace's previous beau Woody Harrelson....

I don't want Grace to have a long term relationship. I think Grace being single is what makes the show funny as well. How she'll always find something wrong with the guys she dates. Remember the guy she dated who had 6 toes on one foot.
