Default Broadcast Syndication Local Fall 2024 Schedules

I saw my first ad for a new show coming on my MyNetworkTV affiliate tonight. Bob Hearts Abishola will be airing weeknights at 5PM, where The King of Queens currently is. I hope People Puzzler has been doing well for them in the noon hour, one of the few syndicated shows left that are worth watching. Seinfeld has aired in the 10PM hour on MyNetwork for a few years, after the same slot on CW. Which is a good time but MyNetwork has gotten to too much sports airing delaying primetime shows. This thread is not for diginets like Antenna TV and LAFF.

Family Guy and Bob's Burgers are both leaving syndication, at least here. FOX animated shows don't like airing on the CW anymore. Chicago P.D. replaced Family Guy at 11PM, and Bob's Burgers has one more week at midnight. Something I haven't seen in other years: a 2 hour NFL discussion show weekdays from 12-2PM called GMFB: Overtime which starts September 2. That will leave a big hole in February when the NFL season is done. GMFB: Overtime will replace Lauren Lake's Paternity Court 2x, Cutler's Court, and The Verdict with Judge Hatchett. Major Crimes is sadly expiring from My Network after this weekend. It was nice as this station aired full closing credits, but Lifetime does give it more episodes in a row which helps with the long arcs.

September 9 has the most changes so far, there will probably be more on the 16th and maybe the 23rd. For the first time in well over a decade Friends will be airing on Fort Wayne locals weeknights in the 10PM hour on the CW. They have it directly competing against Seinfeld which remains at 10:00 on My Network TV. (Owned by the same station which also owns our ABC and NBC stations).

Live with Kelly and Mark is gone! After this Friday ABC won't be airing it anymore, and it is not listed on other stations. Odd since I have heard that is the highest rated daytime talk show. Maybe CBS or FOX got the rights but can't start airing it until the 16th. ABC21's news overkill gets even worse. They are replacing Live with yet another hour of local news at 9AM. This is the station that already has 3.5 straight hours of news including the national broadcast from 4-7:30PM.

Tamron Hall which had been on ABC at 10AM is getting downgraded to My Network TV at 9AM. Replacing Tamron Hall with start times of 9:59 and 10:29 is The Drew Barrymore Show, moving over from NBC. They snagged Judy Justice which will air at 2PM and 2:30PM replacing Drew Barrymore. Judy Sheindlin's other show Judge Judy remains in its longtime 4PM hour on WANE CBS, which is not making any changes on September 9 (unless they are after 1AM). WFFT FOX is not making changes either.

My Network TV will be airing The Conners weeknights in the 11PM hour after Seinfeld, replacing Mom. I already knew about Bobishola replacing The King of Queens at 5PM. People Puzzler remains in the noon hour with Flip Side its new lead-in in the 11AM hour.

Back to the CW, to make room for Friends TMZ is moving from 10:30 to 11:00 and Dish Nation is moving from 10:00 to 11:30. They had also been airing in the 7PM hour. Dish Nation loses that slot with TMZ moving a half hour earlier to 7:00 with TMZ Live as a direct lead-in now. Premiering at 7:30 is True Crime News which will also air at midnight. Chicago P.D. is moving to 12:30AM. It had the 11PM hour for a few weeks as placeholder after Family Guy expired, before that had been really early mornings at 6AM.

Listings were not updated before. Starting Tuesday, September 3 with its season premiere, Live with Kelly and Mark is moving to my FOX affiliate weekdays at 9AM, replacing two episodes of America's Court with Judge Ross. America's Court moves two hours earlier to 7AM where infomercials where. Live will have a late night encore, for next week only at 2AM. Live encore will move to 1AM the week of September 9, Two and a Half Men is leaving.

Suits is coming to weekend broadcast syndication starting September 21. It is what will be replacing Major Crimes in primetime on my My Network TV affiliate at 10:00.

I'm sorry, CatsRule/IceCream, I wish there was a way to find out the programming changes to the local TV affiliate stations in my own market (in this case, it's Little Rock/Central Arkansas), but I usually don't find out about such changes until the day they're supposed to happen, or the day prior to such changes taking place, at the very best.

Family Guy and Bob's Burgers (which had been airing on midnight and 1 am Central Time on KARZ, the MyNetworkTV affiliate for the Little Rock market) leaving broadcast syndication is entirely the fault of The Walt Disney Company, nothing more. Other changes I'm noticing: The King of Queens and Mom (both of which had also aired on KARZ) are disappearing from broadcast syndication entirely, and The Neighborhood (previously airing at the 6 pm Central hour on KARZ) is being bumped to Midnight Central to make room for Bob Hearts Abishola, and will only have one airing daily (True Crime News will follow The Neighborhood at 12:30 am Central). If The Neighborhood is only getting Midnight/overnight airings on other affiliate stations as well going forward, this means the syndicators must not like Beth Behrs anymore. The Conners joins the KARZ lineup, airing in the 5 pm Central hour. Lastly, Judy Justice will air on KARZ at Noon Central, following reruns of Judge Judy (at 11 am).

No sign of "Judy Justice" coming to my neck of the woods (San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose).

Online TV listings are great for finding out approximately the next two weeks. I use Zap2it, enter your zip code and it will show what your local stations (and any cable stations in your area) are airing for the next 13 days. I used to use TitanTV, but went back to Zap2it when Titan blocked ad blockers.

Blocking ad blockers is getting popular. I'm hoping the next wave is ad blockers that can't be detected.

Anybody remember those MONTHLY cable TV guides like Preview and The Cable Guide? They would provide listings for a whole MONTH. No joke. Our family had Preview and it was a version that was dedicated to our cable system and had our channel lineup. Not to sure if other guides were like that.

Naturally of course the guides had mistakes due to channels changing their schedules. It’s no wonder they don’t exist anymore.

When I was staying in Peoria last week, I was impressed to find their local FOX affiliate gives Young Sheldon on weekdays from 6-7PM better slots than The Big Bang Theory from 4:30-5:30PM. Except Young Sheldon didn't air on Friday night, that long GMFB Overtime show they already have on two other times a day was there instead.
Also, their ABC affiliate gives People Puzzler a great slot with the 2PM weekdays hour. Too bad it doesn't air then here, decent hour at noon but against Andy Griffith. That is one way Fort Wayne is much better, I doubt any of the Peoria locals air an Andy Griffith hour.

The Andy Griffith noon hour on WFFT had not been separated for a long time, until now. Their 5PM newscast has been cut from an hour to a half hour. As a result, Andy Griffith's 12:30PM episode has moved to 5:30PM. Andy's noon episode remains with infomercials starting a half hour earlier at 12:30. Something strange is going on with WFFT's 6PM newscast. It is down to a half hour with The Simpsons airing at 6:30 this week and Universal Basic Guys at 6:30 on Monday. But then on Tuesday (Christmas Eve) the newscast is back to a full hour. Also, this Sunday leading out of the 1PM NFL game is Animal Control at 4:30 and 5:00.
