Long time reader, first time poster on here. The Blind River case has terrified me since it first aired. I know everyone has leaned towards Ronald West as the likely suspect... But has anyone posted Gregory Allan as a potential suspect? I was rewatching 'Making a Murderer' this evening and noticed the picture of him looked quite a lot like the composite. Even my gf mentioned "he looks a lot like that Unsolved Mysteries episode you've showed me." Plus, the thumb of Wisconsin and Blind River aren't terribly far from each other and the timeframe fits.....just a thought

Welcome to the forum!
Not that familiar with Gregory Allan, but a cursory look at his background...seems capable of the crime yes. And does look like the composite. That said, I think there is generally a tenancy to try and identify perpetrators of crimes from an existing known set of criminals, which may not be valid in most cases. I'm not even that sure Ronald West was responsible, the fact that he has never been charged says a lot. The less comforting alternative is that a person unknown as a criminal was responsible, and one more such individual is thus walking among us. |

Thats very true. After seeing the sketch for years, then seeing West, it was kind of a "eh......maybe." Keeping in mind Gord McCallister was remembering a face from an extremely traumatic moment, I could see the composite being close, but maybe not 100%. Allen was just a theory; looked similar, region and timeframe fit, and watching the series seeing what he was capable of, it could fit. I just wondered if anyone else had thought about it as well.
