Official: Kim Fields Joins "Real Housewives of Atlanta"
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" Starts Filming with Transgender Model Amiyah Scott and Kim Fields (Tootie!)
by Kristin Dos Santos 8/18/15 Things are heating up again in Hotlanta! On the heels of the news that "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes is moving on to other projects, Bravo is spicing up its high-rated series with two additions: Amiyah Scott and Kim Fields, E! News has confirmed. Scott is a transgender model (born as Arthur and raised in New Orleans) and although she hasn't been offered a series regular role as a Housewife, she began filming with RHOA crews last night for the show's eighth season. "Amiya is a friend of Kenya's," a source tells E! News exclusively, "and she was at an event that Kenya threw last night. So she filmed last night. Other than that, she's having conversations with production. Talks are happening but it's too soon to say what will come of it." Fields, who got her start in Hollywood as Tootie on "The Facts of Life", has been named a Housewife and the plan is to have her very much a part of the new season. However, a source adds, "Anything can happen." Last night was the first time the RHOA ladies filmed with Fields, and we are told that there was no drama — just introductory pleasantries. Bravo had no comment on the casting news. http://www.eonline.com/news/687429/r...-fields-tootie |

Part of me sees this as simply a very bad career move - the kind of thing that Mindy has often spoke about avoiding.
The other part sees this as an opportunity for Kim to be a positive influence, to share her faith and family, and to show viewers that she is more than Tootie. Only time - and ratings - will tell how this will work. |

I don't want my girls mixed up in reality TV. Lisa on Survivor was one thing, but Housewives?? Ugh...I would much rather see the "Facts" cast gathered together watching episodes of "Facts"! Now that is reality TV!

Wendy Williams discussed this on the Tuesday installment of her talk show. She also is against this, and doesn't think Kim shouldn't undermine herself and her legacy by becoming a fighting housewife. I was glad to hear Wendy speak against this. She and I both love Kim, but think she should keep her dignity.

She was a successful actress, she really shouldn't bother with this kind of reality show. Maybe "Dancing with the Stars" or another competition show like that. But not Housewives.

![]() I admit to being a HUGE fan of these "Housewives" and "Girlfriends" shows, but, seriously, Kim Fields has no place here. These b_tch_s will slice and dice her, cuss her out and break a wine glass over her head over a roll of the eyes. Kim get out while you still can! . . .and fire your agent! |

Why Kim Fields Finally Said Yes to Joining "Real Housewives of Atlanta"
by Jean Bentley 11/8/15 Kim Fields and her family have been approached many times by reality TV producers eager to have the actress on their shows — but the newest "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member took a while to finally say yes. "We've been asked to do reality TV for years, and it just wasn't the right timing, right opportunity," she tells E! News of her new gig. But somehow, the stars finally aligned and she agreed to join the RHoA cast. "It's such an adventure. It's something different," the "Facts of Life" and "Living Single" star says of finally taking the leap. "If you're going to look up and celebrate 40 years of doing something, at this point, for me at least, the next logical progression is what's challenging? What's new? What's different?" Although Fields didn't have any preconceived notions as far as what to expect, she made sure to do her research and due diligence before walking into situations that can get extremely volatile at times (to say the least!). "I don't think it's fair to go into any environment armed with, 'Oh, this is already going to be this.' Just go in with an open mind, an open heart," she dishes. "Now, go in with wisdom so you don't get your head knocked off as soon as you hit the door!" Fields, who will appear alongside her husband and two children on the show, says her biggest concern before taking the leap was the effect on her family and friends. "I'm very, very, very protective of my family, of my marriage, of my parenting." And don't worry, she trusts the audience to know what fights are real and what's being blown out of proportion. "Audiences are so smart now. They know what is puffed-up fodder that is dredged up just for the purposes of being mean-spirited. They know what's real. They certainly know me, and to be able to pull back another layer...has been exciting." Fields makes her "Real Housewives of Atlanta" debut on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. on Bravo. http://www.eonline.com/news/713766/w...ves-of-atlanta |

Kim was on The Wendy Williams Show Friday and she told Wendy she appreciated for what she said "to her" through the camera (on a previous show's Hot Topics segment about Kim joining "Housewives"), and she thanked Wendy for saying what she did. Kim said she felt Wendy was reaching out to her "like a big sister" and she "got" where she was coming from in begging her not to do "Housewives". Kim said other people took it offensively for her, but she understood what Wendy was saying and she appreciated that. So they really connected in that moment.

I don't watch the show but has Kim talked about her experience on Facts of Life or any of the cast members?

Not really but Kenya Moore has thrown it in her face and called her Tootie in a bad way. This past Sunday's episode one of the other girls on the show Porsha wanted Kim and Kenya to help her with a commercial and she had Kim and Kenya do a commercial pitch but Kenya didn't show up and she got all sorts of upset when Porsha choose Kim to help her do the commercial. She was like give me another chance to show you my pitch and Porsha said you didn't come to the pitch meeting and then Kenya got all up in Kim face and started bashing her by calling her Tootie and using that in a bad way. Then Kenya got all up in Kim space and Kim wasn't going to have it so she got up and tried to leave but Kenya was right behind her yelling at her the whole time Kim was trying to leave. I think Kim did the right thing by getting out of there and not sinking to Kenya's level.
