Default Does anyone think age played a major factor in eliminating the Lana character?

I saw the episode last night on N@N which was Lana's first episode on Three's Company. I ever seen it before and always wondered how she was written into the show. But after looking at a episode with Lana and the rest of the TC cast, it was so obvious that the Lana character did not blend in too well due to the fact she was older than most of the cast.

I don't think age was a factor, I just think they didn't give her that much to do. All she did was try to jump Jack. That's funny a few times, but if that's the only thing she does, it can get tedious.

Mr. Furley joined the show the same year, and his character really took off, because Don Knotts was a great comedic actor, so the writers ran with him, while Lana vanished the next season.

Plus, I don't think there was very much chemistry with Lana and the rest of the cast.

I think Mr. furley stayed on because he had a major role-landlord, Lana was just another tenant who was just chasing after jack.

From what Ritter said on the E! THS, "it was stupid to have Jack keep pushing away this sexy chick all the time. Why was he resisting? He had no reason to."

Not wanting a Jack and Lana relationship she was dumped.

The entire Lana-wants-Jack, Jack-does-not-want-Lana thing wore thin after a few episodes. Ann Wedgeworth noticed this too and asked to be released from her contract if she couldn't get a better role on the show. After awhile it got a little stale with Lana getting all over Jack, having RF come in and be all over Lana, and have Lana insult RF. Her last episode I think was one of the better ones because this didn't take up the majority of her screen time like it did in many other episodes.

I think the last episode was the one in the woods.

Nope. That one was #61 - "A Camping We Will Go". Her last episode was #66 - "A Black Letter Day" in which she convinces Janet that Chrissy and Jack are going out and convinces Chrissy that Jack and JAnet are going out.

I don't think age had anything to do with it. Lana was this character always trying to hook up with Jack. And Jack was always so no. Which really didn't make since. Being that the Jack character is a sexpot. Why would he keep turning her down?

Going back into the past, I felt that writing Hello Lana was difficult to really write well. That's the reason to why I brought in new character and dumped a few in the process.

AND to All Hello Lana fans: I completed the HL series back a while ago, but don't think I posted the last few episodes. I do have them written down though, and will have to see of what I haven't in fact posted here.

The Jack Tripper Character turned her down because the Lana character was older.

I will agree with that. She did become annoying after a while. I think the lady who played Lana started to see that her character was getting a little annoying to everyone who watched three's company whch is probably why she requested a change for her character.
