Since these two seem to be the battlers (is that a word?), which one do you prefer?

I like both, but I prefer SNL

So is SNL

They're always talking about recent stuff...when was the last time you saw it?

Plus, I can laugh way harder at SNL...it's my favorite show, don't get on my bad side cuz ill defend ma show

I used to watch Mad TV religiously back int 1998-1999, it's best season. Everything clicked back then, the writing was superb, the skits were hilarious and they were always doing something risky. Remember the Alanis Morisette video "Wash Me" ? I nearly pissed myseflf laughing. But then the show had a few bad seasons and I stopped watching. When Nicole Sullivan left, it was pretty much over for me.

I watch SNL now and flip on commercials to Mad TV, but I never see anything interesting. Mind you, not that SNL is some piece of artwork. This season has been a big hit or miss, there have been terrible episodes and great ones. Last night, with Drew Barrymore, was a great one. WU was great, and I loved the skit with Donatella Versace- Maya Rudolph is one of the best things about the show, like when she played Diana Ross during WU. The script wasn't particularly funny, but Maya made it great.

for me, the main reason I watch SNL is WU because it's usually great...usually.

Without a doubt in my mind....

SNL.

Nothing compares.
No sketch comedy, IMO, has or will ever match the quality of SNL.

And I agree -- lately WU has been the best part.
Im just waiting for Season Sets.

I agree SNL is hit or miss, but that's what makes it a little exciting. Some skits can be awesome and others total flops. Most of the time it's pretty good, though. And WU's definately my favorite part. Usually has me pissing my pants.

Currently, I don't find either show funny, but Saturday Night Live has the edge, as it used to be great, and Mad TV has never been good.

I just want to say that I think everyone should atleast watch Madtv every now and then and maybe you won't judge it based on a few non-amuzing sketches in the past!! This show has changed alot and is funny as ever!! No show is perfect and trust me...SNL has it's MAJOR flaws too, which I won't get into!! But check it out!!

Madtv comes on Mon-Fri (1:00, 5:00, and 7:30-pm) on Comedy Central
and
Saturday (11:00pm) on Fox

I'm not saying you all HAVE to like it!! Just watch it!! That is all!!

I do watch it a lot on Comedy Central and sometimes on Fox before SNL comes on, and I like it, just not as much as SNL

(Saturdays on NBC 11:30eastern

If you want to see some real, great sketch comedy, check out Mr. Show With Bob And David, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Saturday Night Live c. 1975-1979; 1987-1994, or The Ben Stiller Show.

As for more recent SNL, I'm a fan of Will Ferrell's work on the show. But that's about as far as it goes.
