This case was almost 20 years ago, right?

I saw the 1 hour special on this and the killed didn't get nearly a harsh enough punsihment. He committed a rape/murder and yet he can be out on parole in about 25 years???

That's a joke. He should've gotten the death penalty but Washington state might not even have it.

By the way, it's on at 8pm central. I only know that because it is now 7:35pm and I panicked thinking I missed it, so I checked CourtTV's website. Luckily it isn't on until 8.

Thanks for the correction. I do tape Forensic Files every Wed. night at 8 since that is usually when they air their new episodes. I'm looking forward to watching it and see if they mention anything UM left out.

The crime occurred in 1993. So it's now 14 years old.

Actually, Washington state has the death penalty, and has carried out some executions since the U.S. reinstated capital punishment in 1976. It just happens to be one of those death penalty states that doesn't execute people as commonly as (for example) Texas or Florida.

Given the possibility of him being released, I agree that the prison sentence he received is a joke. He was given 36 years in prison, but let's pray that he ends up serving that full sentence. If he does, he will be in his 80s when that 36-year sentence expires. Hopefully by then, he will be too incapacitated to be much of a danger to society.
