Does the name Rufino Castaneda ring a bell? Unsolved Mysteries profiled him in 2002, since he was wanted for rape. He was also profiled numerous times on America's Most Wanted until he was captured in Mexico in 2007. Well, last night AMW aired an update on the case. Not too long ago, Rufino Castaneda was convicted of rape and sentenced to 55 years in prison.
The update included a new interview with Castaneda's victim, Christina Steinbergs. I have to say that I was impressed by her. To me, she is a perfect example of a crime victim who wouldn't give up until justice was served. |

Caught it last night. I didn't know the case had been solved but I was very glad, as I remember it from multiple airings on AMW and once on UM. Christina is a very brave woman and her quest for justice was inspiring.
