Smothers Brothers, not Laugh-In?
Hey,
I've got a question. How come The Smothers Brothers was canceled but not Laugh-In ? I mean The Smothers Brothers made some people upset, how come Laugh-In didn't? I think the Smothers Brothers should've stayed on the air, anyone else think so? I know that CBS picked them up but then dropped them. -Archie and Edith |

Actually, the show was not cancelled due to poor ratings. The Smothers Brothers were fired, in breach of their contract, for the controversial political content of their show. I was actually able to interview Tom Smothers just a couple of weeks ago, and he confirmed this. You can read the interview at Being There Magazine:
