I remember a couple of them; The Blue Knight and Hardcastle and McCormick. They werent' my 'favorite shows', but I did like Hardcastle and McCormick quite a lot. That show was nearly top-knotch television. I don't remember if I watched it though until it was in syndication, that is if it ever went into syndication. So I don't recall why it went off the air or how well or not so well the ratings were for the show.

I remember this one! I thought it had great potential to be a classic. Sadly, CBS never gave it much of a chance and cancelled it after only one season

I remember watching Hardcastle and McCormick and Soul Man. Some of the others sound familiar but I never watched them.

The one I always watched was Hardcastle and McCormick. Soul Man and Bless This House are the only others that sound familiar.

From your list, DG, I'd say The Mothers-in-Law (not "Mother-in-Laws") is the only one I really like. Others I recall but rarely watched.

With regard to Bless This House, I think we'd all benefit from erasing Andrew Dice Clay from our memories completely!

The only one from the list that rings a bell is "Hardcastle and McCormick". I watched it a few times - I think my dad used to like it. "Some of My Best Friends" starred Jason Bateman? How old was he in this show? The only short-lived Jason Bateman series that I remember was one called "It's Your Move", which was in-between his stints on "Silver Spoons" and "Valerie/ The Hogan Family". I think IYM lasted all of about five episodes! (I still have a couple of them on tape somewhere...)
