Default The Fonz is the greatest - recent fan take

I'm new to Happy Days, well I saw the first episode years ago, then a few highlight episodes. The past few months I've been really marathoning it, so fun and has that great vibe. Figured I'd share my takes / observations.

For one, The Fonz is the greatest! I'm a Henry Winkler fan in general, really liked him on Children's Hospital, Barry, etc. And I loved his recent audiobook Being Henry by the way, has great Happy Days stories and stuff too.

I like how for long running shows that change, there are fans with different preferences. I've read a lot how some fans like the first two seasons best by far. For me my favs so far are season 3 and 4, with 5 as the runner up. 4 is my fav if I have to pick just one. The live audience vibe and the rise of Fonzie, somehow for me it's just the perfect mix. I really think Winkler is the most electric and always funny performance I've seen in a classic sitcom. Whoa! Now that's cool. I like the outrageousness coupled with enough substance and subtle details that I'm drawn into their world and stuff.

That said I'm a fan of the other seasons too, and the whole cast is great. I even watched a couple of those reunion specials on YouTube, really getting into it. Here's to happy days!

Nah. OG Potsie (the one that was the cool, wordly, and horny best friend of Richie who also drank and was a bad influence to Richie and was always getting him into trouble, but he always gave Richie amazing advice on girls) was the greatest. Love and the Television Set + the original Golden Four seasons rule! You must not have seen the original 1971 pilot, because, in that one (the full version, not the crappy YouTube version with two missing scenes), Potsie rules!

Very cool to meet another Fonzie fan. His machismo and gravitas make for an interesting, well-rounded character at least to me. He's strong and sexy, but at the same time humane and vulnerable. I think Winkler did a great job with him.
