An I Love Lucy July 4th:

(Lucy and Ricky & the Mertzes are at Target buying a BBQ grill.)

Ricky: “Lucy take a look at this grill. Isn’t it somethin’?”

Lucy: “Yeah, it looks great.”

Ricky: “It costs $500 and it’s on wheels. It will be great to buy for the picnic in which me and my band will be performing.”

Fred: “I’ll say so Rick. I would also love getting this grill…if it was $498 cheaper.”

(Ricky laughs.)

Lucy: “Oh Ricky, about the show…”

Ricky: “No. You can’t be in the show.”

Lucy: “Why not? I won’t ruin it.”

Ricky: “You have ruined 98% of the shows I have put on. The answer is no.”

Lucy: “All I will do is fire the fireworks and cannon crackers. I’ll get them real cheap. There is a guy on the street selling them.”

Ricky: “He’s probably selling illegal ones. Don’t trust him.”

Lucy: “Oh he looks honest. He doesn’t look like he would do something like that.”

Ricky: “No. Niw, I’m getting the grill.”

Lucy: “Oh.”

(On July 4th, Ricky is performing at the picnic. Lucy is right by the grill with Ethel.)

Ethel: “Lucy, what are you doing?”

Lucy: “Ethel, I bought those cannon crackers and fireworks from that guy on the street really cheap. He doesn’t look like he would do something bad even accidentally. So, I will really make Ricky’s show better by lighting these bad boys.”

(She does but they misfire and hit their car causing it to explode. Lucy gets scared and accidentally pushes the BBQ grill into the pond causing it to get broken. Ricky sees what Lucy did and is POed. The cops saw what Lucy did and they and Ricky go towards Lucy. The cops see the cannon crackers and fireworks.)

Cop: “Ma’am, these are illegal.”

Ricky: “Lucy, look at what you did. You destroyed our car and our new BBQ grill. What do you have to say for yourself?”

Lucy: “Happy July 4th everyone.”

(Lucy jumps into the pond and swims away.)
