I read somewhere that one of the actors on Salute Your Shorts also became one of the main characters on Boy Meets World.

I think on Salute Your Shorts his name was Blaine. He was a mischievous rich kid who entered on the 2nd season. He replaced the kid who had curly blonde hair.

On Boy Meets World he played the oldest brother. He had long hair.

You've got things mixed up here. On Salute your Shorts his name was Pinksy and then he played the character Joey on Boy meets World, not the oldest brother.
