Default Rite Aid closing nearly 30 more stores in Michigan, Ohio

This doesn't surprise me. There are so many of them!

I didn't know Rite Aid was still around. CVS and Walgreens are the main drugstores here.

Yes and other restaurant chains closing are Pizza Hut you can thank the architects of the Reset for mega numbers of businesses closing down. Business owners large and small are Drowning in DEBT....People are staying in their homes... Our thriving beach town is a ghost town..

The Apple's, Amazon and Micrsoft et al, can't count their MONIES fast enough....

I used to be a fan of Rite Aid when my town had two of them and sometimes when my dad would go to work Mom and I would go into Rite Aid to find interesting stuff and Rite Aids were interesting stores because you could find all sorts of items like books magazines movies and even music albums too and when I would go to Rite Aid my favorite section was their music section because they would get all the new releases and they had albums that were hard to find as well. I only now have one Rite Aid in my town and I remember when Rite Aid used to be known as Payless Drugs and then Thrifty Drugs merged with Payless Drugs and then converted itself into Rite Aid and the towns near me always had Rite Aid and one of the towns has a shopping center with a Rite Aid and next door to it is Big Lots so you can imagine those two places get a whole lot of shoppers. But it used to be that Rite Aid Osco Drugs Valu-Rite and Phar-Mor were the drug store kings but when CVS came along they replaced Rite Aid as the number drug store chain second to Walgreens and I think CVS is the one that made Rite Aid go broke because CVS wants to be king and they seem to have the great deals on anything you name. But I can guarantee you that another drug store will buy the remaining Rite Aids and convert them like Longs Drugs did with Payless Drugs in Northern California

Rite Aid has the distinction of a Ice Cream area, one could buy a great single or double cone, or a pint of hand packed to take home... They have all been just fine, a lot of buying one another...

Ma'am, Rite Aid is a pharmacy. Apple is tech. So is Microsoft. My generation can at least tell the difference between the 2.

Rite Aid has always been my least favorite of the pharmacy retail stores, but it's also the most convenient to pickup prescriptions since it's closest to my house so I'm glad my city isn't on the list! I am familiar with one of the Michigan locations closing, though.

Very true, but why do I feel this post is going to give us one of those "big pharma" rants?

I will really miss their icecream counter if Rite Aid really does completely go under and they all close!

Many of the Rite-Aid stores around me all became Walgreens as they bought over 1900 Rite Aid's around January 2018.

There's only a handful of Rite-Aid's left around me as all of the others are Walgreens and CVS. Duane Reade is another one, but they are under the Walgreens company and are located mainly in NY and NJ.
