i read somewhere that the people who own those two game shows since Merv Griffin sold them (SONY owns them now i think) are asking a hefty price for their broadcast rights. Game Show Network obviously doesn't want to pay for both shows 5 days a week all year long because it'll cost. therefore by showing it on just two days, they SAVE what they would be spending airing the shows everyday.

GSN is partly owned by Sony who owns the rights to Wheel and Jeopardy, so I doubt the cost is that high for them They don't air them for free, but they probably get a good deal on them
