Why I hate installers!! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

They install crap all over the place and when you uninstall it,it hurts other programs!!

I downloaded and installed this WORD DOC PROGRAM so I could read .doc and .docx files. (I dont have wordpad)

When I uninstalled it,it removed the file MSXML3.DLL and my browser uses that file to do some XML tasks.........

I dunno what version of this file I had on here... Many different versions!!!!!!

I have IE6 SP1 .. Does anyone know what MSXML3.DLL file is usually on 98se machines that have SP1?? (What version of it)

Dude: Learn to live with no installing, downloads etc. You are NOT missing a thing .....Less is Best, Keep it Simple, work on meditating...

I talk to the universe in my meditation work and ask the Universe (some say God is the Universe, who knows) but I can't see visible fixes...but I keep up. Man has sure done their damage so go to the unknowns.....why not.

I've been too loaded with my constant radio telling me all the garbage out there and I changed things yesterday, LESS radio.....

The last 4 yrs have been nightmarish....

Hehe no <<>> programs that have INSTALLERS opposed to stand alone ZIP files......

I do not like them and I try one and it does that...... Exactly why I dont like them!!

If you dont have wordpad, try and see if you have notepad. To answer your question of what that file is or does on a Windows 98 machine, I havent touched one of those since the mid 2000s so I havent a clue, but....this might be your sign to seriously upgrade your equipment.

Eventually those files on that computer are going to stop working all together and then you're gonna be without a computer.

Yup I have notepad,well Notepad2........ (Its a different program)

Would this file come with other programs just in case ya dont have it???

I was gonna try re-installing my browser but Im afraid it will me$$ something up!!

Is there someone here that could look at the installation file for MyIE2 and see if this file is in there?? (msxml3.dll)

If it is in there,just extract the file and upload it here as an attachment (change the extention to BMP so the site will allow it and then I will Download it and change it back to DLL)

I dont know if any modern computer will even be able to find it considering most are on Windows 10/11 and the last one that program worked on was win8.

I did some sesrching and I found one that works

Its 1.11 Megs but I dont think its the 98se version of the file..

This File version is 8.50.2162.0

The Description is MSXML 3.0 SP 5

This one WORKS but I notice its slightly slower (A tinsy bit)

I thiink the one for 98se is under 1 Meg.. (Still SP5 though but 98se version of it)
