The just eluded to the fact that he was in Mexico, and then they just dropped the complete mention of him. I didnt think the series would work with the kid they added, especially since Albertson kept trying to call him "Chico"

i read they made it seem that chico left to go work with his dad in his fishing business, but never heard that on the show!

I heard about the fishing trip thing and thought it was a cop out. But (watching TVLand and got a memory jog) in the ep where Raul runs away, Raul and Ed are talking in a Mexican church and Raul asks if Chico's coming back and Ed says, "He died."

I remember that episode with Raul & saw it recently on TVLAND. I've been wondering how did they have him die on the show when Ed told Raul Chico died.
