Cool Joey Lawrence the teen dream

Joey Lawrence is a beef-cake with incredible pecs and a boy-nex door aura. He got his start on "Gimme a Break" in 1983 and was on it until it left the air in 1987. Matthew also joined the show but in 1986 for it's final season. In late 1990 Joey returned to TV in a pilot for a show called "Blossom". The show was picked up by NBC in January 1991 and from that point forward he was on all the teen magazine covers and he also made the coveted cover of TV Guide around the time he had a hit song on the pop chart: "Nothing My Love Can't Fix", which hit #19 Pop in 1993. I believe the album also went GOLD or PLATINUM...the early/mid '90s were a huge era for Joey. After the demise in 1995 of "Blossom", Joey was quickly cast on NBC's "Brotherly Love" along with his brothers, Matt and Andy. Plagued with a terrible time slot (Sunday evenings at 7pm from Sep. 1995 to Nov. 1995) and up against the ever powerful CBS landmark "60 Minutes", NBC dropped the show in mid-season but brought it back to the schedule in March 1996 at 8:30pm Monday nights but it failed to grab viewers away from principal competition "Melrose Place" on FOX and NBC dropped the show for good in April 1996. Along came cable-TV's WB Network who started to air new episodes in the fall of 1996. The show was a hit with that company's audience but it's annoying habit of airing in the family friendly 7-8pm hour on Sunday nights eventually did the show in and WB dropped the show in June of 1997 due to it's inability to be provacative and "hip" with it's storylines. Since the demise of "Brotherly Love" in 1997, the brothers Lawrence have been out of the public eye. I sure hope hunky Joey and Matt come back with a new TV show!

Talking

I just found out that hunky Joey will be a recurring character on the TV show "American Dreams". He's playing the part of Michael Brooks, the producer of 'American Bandstand'. boo on Joey's marriage! I'll still have my memories of him on "Blossom", "Brotherly Love", ad countless cable movies anyway!
