Default Nick at Nite in need of CPR

Well, Coach is now on Nick at Nite, so many of you are saying the same thing that I'm saying, "Big Deal." Other are saying, "Coach, why so soon?" I'm saying both.

If you ask me, Coach can stay, but only if Nick can compensate. By compensating, I mean bring on one or all of the following shows:

The Hogan Family
Mr. Belvedere
Who's the Boss? (Only, if ABC Family should give it up)
Growing Pains (Only if, ABC Family should give it up)

In my mind, these are probably the only other 80's sitcoms that could possibly fix the broken Nick at Nite and they are also the only ones that seem to even have a chance of coming to the network.

I have to admit it but when Charles in Charge came I was shocked. Because lets face it, some 80's shows just don't seem to have a chance:

The Golden Girls/Designing Women (Lifetime will probably air them forever)

Webster/Gimme a Break!/Benson/Too Close for Comfort/It's a Living/Amen/Kate & Allie (They don't seem like possible contenders)

Punky Brewster/Out of This World/Mama's Family/Small Wonder(I'd be shocked)

Silver Spoons/227/ALF/Perfect Strangers/Head of the Class (Have all aired at least one episode but have since been bypassed)

I think PS/HOTC are part of the WB deal TV Land has, so anyone of those shows should have been able to be aired regularly. I would love to see anyone of them regularly, but with the "new NaN" that probably will never happen. Alf was a special for just the Revenge of the 80s and Silver Spoons and 227 were Screen Gems.

Yeah, I agree on Webster/etc. Maybe 2 years ago I could've seen all of them on NaN, but not anymore. At least Amen and Kate and Allie have homes for now (TBS & Oxygen respectively).

Punky/Out of this world/Mama/Small Wonder; I'd have a stroke. LOL. Mama's Family thankfully stills are on TBS, but I doubt it will be for much longer, it came in 1997, and most contracts are either 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 years; It could leave in 2003 or 2004.

I too was pretty shocked when NaN added Charles in Charge. Really shocked.

What really ticks me off with NaN is not the fact that they are airing Cosby Show/Cheers, etc, it's the fact that they skipped so many shows on BEFORE those (Cosby Show/Cheers/Coach, and next year, ugh, Roseanne).

Why in the hell did NaN skip? I just always had the impression Nick would go through the decades (50s, 60s, 70s, early-mid 80s, late-80s, 90s, etc) they were doing that (somewhat) until 2001.

I just wish I knew why; ratings? That honestly must not have bothered Nick before.

It's just really frustrating. Honestly, Coach doesn't bother me, Cheers, Family Ties, etc. But they just skipped so many good shows and completely changed their image to be more like TBS and WGN. I've said this before, and I said it when Lucy came on Nick in 1994, once Lucy leaves, it will be the end of NaN as we know it; and it happened. I mean, I'm glad Three's Company and All in the Family are on, but still...

Silver Spoons and 227 are Screen Gems, not WB. ALF is WB, but I don't think they have that, they just acquired a few episodes for that one marathon. They do have Perfect Strangers, Head of the Class, and Just the Ten of Us from the WB Deal.

I think ratings play a large part of why N@N has sorta changed formats. In my opinion, I don't think either Coach or Charles in Charge have a very long shelf life on N@N.

I have a question about two of the 70's shows on that network. Nevermind, I know the answer to Three's Company. I would count that as an 80's show because it ran to 84.

However, what about All in the Family? Is that going to be the only bonefide classic show on the network? It went to 79, and even though it was almost borderline 80's it still didn't quite make it to that year (not counting ABP). Do you see All in the Family leaving any time soon, Pav?

I believe they have AITF until Fall 2005, not sure though. If it does leave N@N, it should move back to TVL soon.

Thanks for your reply. I guess Archie is kind of like Lucy since it has that staying power. Thanks again Pavanbadal.

CiC will only be on through 2003, when the contract expires; Coach, I'm not sure about, but it will probably last through at least 2004 (when the contract expires). Pavanbadal can probably answer the Coach question better than I can.

Coach expires before Memorial Day 2004.

So from what that says, "Just the Ten of Us," "Perfect Strangers," "ALF," or maybe even "Head of the Clacc" could show up on Goodlife? I can really see "ALF" or "Just the Ten of Us" being paired with "My Sister Sam."

I guess, but not ALF. That was just for that marathon, since Hallmark has the rights.
I can see Just the Ten of Us airing on Goodlife, HOTC and PS lasted long, so I doubt they will ever go to Goodlife.

But my question is, what will come to N@N once AITF, CIC, Coach leaves? I know Roseanne willc ome in, but will they plan to play 3 hours of Cosby followed by 3 hours of Cheers? I'm really curious as to what will become of N@n in the future.

I have a prediction. Not sure if it's correct, but I see Full House and Step by Step in the future.

Ditto, I can also see "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "Saved by the Bell", on N@N in the future, LOL.
