Default TV Land: A Great new schedule but...

Well, today began the new schedule on TV Land and some of you are probably angry because some of your favorite shows were put on the back burner for awhile, giving other shows a chance to shine.

For me, however, I love this new schedule because:

1. The Brady Bunch finally gets some decent timeslots after being buried in a 6:00a.m. timeslot all summer.

2. The Jeffersons finally gets some timeslots during the day.

3. Leave It to Beaver gets continued exposure, which I enjoy, but hope they begin to cut back as not to lead to overexposure, if that hasn't already happened.

4. The Bob Newhart Show gets some airtime, even though I never cared for the show.

5. Happy Days fans get a hearty dose after the show was pulled earlier this year

6. All in the Family fans finally get to see Archie Bunker's Place.

However I do have some suggestions for improvement:

1. Drop the second Hillbillies episode in the morning and replace it with Green Acres or Petticoat Junction.

2. Give The Munsters a break and air The Addams Family for awhile and then alternate back and forth every couple of months.

3. Drop Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. and replace it with Mr. Ed.

All in all, TV Land is still a great network, with a great schedule. For those of you who don't like it, just be patient. I'm sure Batman and I Love Lucy will be back in the front burner soon. Just be patient and understand that all shows that TV Land airs has fans who need some much needed indulgence.

The one thing I am happy about is that Tv Land is now showing Archie Bunker's Place. That's probably the best move they did on this whole schedule switch.

I agree Jenny.

And great post boechsner; yeah, all shows need time to be moved around, so TV Land can determine where a show fits well. I really did think Lucy was doing good at 9:00... Batman also was doing pretty well at 7:00pm, but TV Land screwed that up.

Yeah, I agree boechsner, bring on some more classics, get rid of Gomer (which I believe will be leaving at the end of the year anyway). Bob Newhart is okay, not one of my major faves, glad it's back though; Jeffersons deserve their timeslots, same with Brady Bunch and Happy Days; I for one think they really need to cut back on Beaver, Hillbillies, Gilligan's okay. I believe also the Jeffersons are leaving with Gomer as well (don't quote me on anything here) so that may be why they have those new timeslots; same with Brady Bunch. So, I suggest you guys all record what you can, while you can.

I never really watched Charlie's Angels while it was on TV Land, but when they got rid of it, it really surprised me; Waltons leaving didn't.

And, I hate to say this, but don't count on Archie Bunker's Place as a regular; it's part of the Screen Gems deal, which expires soon (which is why Monkees, Donna Reed, Dennis, Father Knows Best, Hazel, SWAT, etc. are only on for limited periods of time). I'm pretty sure ABP will last through December, but I pray they show all 4 seasons, instead of just the first 36 (like Donna, Dennis, etc.)

Start taping The Jeffersons, it expires aftter Dec 31. ABP will not be around most likely after December 31st.
Hillbillies and Gomer are also leaving after Dec 31.
Munsters I think expires end of May 2003. TV Land has atleast 6 new shows coming this winter, Bewitched, Jeannie, Sanford & Son, and more. And the more will be released lated, but boechsner, you might be happy.

I've been begging Pav to tell me the other shows, LOL, be he won't budge. Well, If Pav thinks boechsner might be happy, boechsner's listed shows I do enjoy as well, so hopefully the mystery shows are good ones. Oh, Pav, wasn't Rockford leaving as well? So many shows leaving, sheesh! Pav, could you tell us if the mystery shows are before or after the 80s? LOL. I'll get it out of you...

Does this mean, you know or at least have ideas what they're going to be?

I think he does but hey, I understand he probably can't say anything, at least not until November or December.

I'm trying to narrow it down, but he won't say if it's a returning show (like S&S, etc) or a new show... I'm betting they're returning shows, because he mentioned your post boechsner, and you listed some shows previously on TV Land....

Well, hopefully soon Pav can tell us.

Pß, please, can you at least tell us how many shows are coming? I have my money on 4 new shows other than Jeannie, Bewitched, and S&S. I think three are gonna be new and one is returning. I think the new ones will be "Dallas," "Three's Company," and "WKRP." I have a gut feeling that "Rhoda" or "Maude" will be making returns...

I have to admit; I do know about one new show Pav hasn't listed, but I honestly can't say anything to you guys. It's up to him. And I really can't say anything else, because he'll hunt me down and kill me! All I can says is that it's a drama/hourlong show. I probably can't even say that... LOL; Pav, just edit this if you want.

Why all the secrecy? What's the big deal? We're going to find out sooner or later.

In any case,

The shows that I mentioned as suggestions were:

Green Acres
Petticoat Junction
The Addams Family
Mr. Ed

Pavanbadal stated that "TV Land has atleast 6 new shows coming this winter, Bewitched, Jeannie, Sanford & Son, and more. And the more will be released lated, but boechsner, you might be happy.

So perhaps he was hinting that at least one of those shows may return to TV Land.

According to TVJunkie 101, an hour long drama may be coming. I hope it's Dallas.

Tell TV Land that, they are the ones who think everything is a secret.

I know only of 6, 4 are confirmed, 2 are not yet. So that is why I can't say, TV Land is very overprotective.
BTW, the shows you mentioned I have heard nothing about.

I wish it were Dallas; but it's not. That's all I can probably say, until Pav feels it's the right time to reveal the new hourlong show coming on; I can hint at this though, it's a crime/drama type show. Yeah, I can't stand the fact TV Land is keeping quiet, WHY? I mean, lol. I hope it's at least 2 of the shows you mentioned boechsner (all 4 would be great!)
