Default Hawkee's Gameroom a special thread devoted to board game commercials

I am so very excited to begin this very special thread as we look at the commercials for popular board games from the 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's 2000's and today and now sit back relax and welcome to Hawkee's Gameroom,
Our first board game commercial we discuss tonight is a game that originally was a popular PC game then a video game series followed and even an app for your tablet or smartphone followed and was released in a board game version. That game is known as Bejeweled and the board game was made by Hasbro in the 2010's and to honor it's release an interesting commercial was made that starts with two girls playing Bejeweled The Board Game. And judging from the commercial the gameplay is simple like the PC and app versions. Based on Bejeweled The Board Game's success Hasbro released Bejeweled Blitz The Board Game which was an electronic version of the previous version. When Bejeweled The Board Game debuted in stores my mother and I were excited to see it and I got it for Christmas and although I got Bejeweled The Board Game for Christmas for myself my mom and I actually share it and we still have it today and we haven't played it ourselves yet
See you tomorrow for the next exciting board game commercial I discuss

Whoever fantasized of being a princess growing up as a little girl? Today's board game commercial might surprise you as we talk about the board game Pretty Pretty Princess and it's amazing commercial. Originally introduced in 1991 by Golden Books Pretty Pretty Princess was introduced by a wonderful commercial which begins with a little girl talking about Pretty Pretty Princess and is such a cute commercial. Pretty Pretty Princess was a jewelry based game in which players had to collect pieces of jewelry while avoiding the famous Black Ring and if you were caught wearing it you had to remove one of of your jewelry and if you got all the jewelry and got the crown you won the game. Pretty Pretty Princess was later sold to Milton Bradley and had new commercials made including some Disney Princess editions of the game. Pretty Pretty Princess still ranks as every little girl's favorite board game and is also a favorite board game of fathers and daughters too. I myself like Pretty Pretty Princess because it's such a wonderful game that is easy for little girls to play
See you next time for Hawkee's Gameroom

Have you ever dreamed of shopping at your favorite mall and grabbing every item on a shopping list? If so Mall Madness was your board game. Making it's debut in 1991 with an awesome commercial Mall Madness was every girl's game and this board game which also came out at the same time the game show Shop Til You Drop debuted on Lifetime proved that mall based board games could be a smash hit with girls everywhere. When you see the commercial for Mall Madness you can see why the game is easy to play and why it's still a hit with girls today. In 1996 Milton Bradley launched the It's Our World Girls line of girls board games which Mall Madness became a part of with a new commercial. Throughout the years Mall Madness has been released in different versions including one based on Disney's Hannah Montana. Believe it or not I had the original Mall Madness as a kid and I thought it was fun but long to assemble the gameboard of the mall. I later bought the newer edition and it was great and I also have the Hannah Montana version of Mall Madness as well
Have a favorite board game commercial you want to tell me about? Feel free to talk about it and memories of that board game with me

"Hey Zandar do you think we will find a favorite commercial today?",
If you grew up in the 90's you and your friends probably played the board game Ask Zandar at your sleepovers. For those of you who aren't familiar with the board game Ask Zandar it was a popular board game made in 1993 and accompanied by a surprising commercial and as you watch the commercial you can see why Ask Zandar was popular. Zandar was a fortune teller who lived inside the electronic crystal ball who as you can tell by watching the commercial knows answers to the most surprising questions like the question asked as an example at the beginning of this post. And Zandar will answer with a yes no or a maybe question. When I saw this commercial I thought Zandar's voice sounded like Yoda's voice but Ask Zandar was a really cool board game that was a top seller

If you were a older boy crazy girl who daydreamed about getting a phone call from the boy of your dreams Dream Phone was your board game. Debuting in the 90's with an awesome commercial Dream Phone was a board game made by Milton Bradley and did not come with an actual telephone but a receiver. As you watch the commercial you'll see what made Dream Phone a hit with girls. How Dream Phone was played was girls trying to guess the identity of a mystery boy who was their "crush". In a The Mole like fashion players had to use the Dream Phone to call different boys who gave out clues to the mystery boy's identity and was repeated until a voice said "You're right I really like you" which was the mystery boy and whoever got the message won the game. This was another favorite board game of mine and I thought it was so neat and I still have my Dream Phone game today. Sure wish there was a Marvel version of Dream Phone released "LOL"

"Be very quiet because Don't Wake Daddy"
In 1993 Milton Bradley debuted Don't Wake Daddy that became a top board game seller. How Don't Wake Daddy was played involved having players trying to get a "snack" in the kitchen without waking "Daddy" who was actually a timer inside a bed and if the player landed on a various noise on the gameboard they had to press the alarm clock to keep Daddy in bed but one more noise woke Daddy up and if you see the commercial you'll see Daddy automatically pop his head up which I thought was creepy but the player who successfully got a "snack" without waking Daddy won the game. This board game was one of Milton Bradley's classic 90's board games and the commercial is so funny
